Spanning a useful range of wide-angle focal lengths, this Lumix G lens from Panasonic is a versatile wide zoom for Micro Four Thirds cameras and offers a 14-28mm equivalent focal length. Well-suited for landscape, nature and architectural applications. Additionally, the lens features a built-in petal-shaped lens hood to guard the front element from stray light to further reduce flaring and surface reflections. Manufacturer's Description -------------------------- In spite of its impressive 2x wide-angle zoom range of 7-14mm (35mm equivalent; 14-28mm), this lens is surprisingly compact and lightweight. This high-performance lens system achieves outstanding compactness, edge to edge resolution and minimum distortion by combining 16 lens elements in 12 groups, including 2 aspherical lenses and 4 ED lenses. This combination of large-diameter lens elements also offers a maximum aperture setting of f4 over the entire zoom range. Its wide 75 to 114-degree angle of view makes this lens ideal when shooting indoors (where distances can be limiting) or for capturing landscapes. The world looks extraordinary when viewed through this lens, allowing photos and movies* to be recorded with a uniquely rich perspective. When ed on a Lumix G Micro System camera, this lens allows use of the advanced contrast AF system, which includes an AF Tracking and a Face Re function*, for more convenient, more enjoyable shooting. A total of 7 blades provide a circular aperture diaphragm that produces a pleasant smoothness in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings. A durable metal lens ensures long operating life and positive attachment to the camera body. Multi-coated lens elements minimize ghosting and flare to further enhance optical performance. The lens hood is optimally designed to enable use even under strong sunlight. The Micro Four Thirds System standard made it possible to achieve a compact size and light weight body.
