I was worried because this is a relatively inexpensive item. It also feels rather cheap when you open it and even when you use it. It isn't an instant read so it could be better in that way, but then it would also be more expensive. However, I am very impressed with the ease of use and reliability of the thermometer. I love how it turns off and on when you open and close the probe. FYI : the battery in the thermometer is sealed in plastic, make sure you remove that when you get it.

Works great, reads fast, probe tip is small so I don't have to poke a giant hole and let all the juices out of what I'm cooking. I like the auto shut off when I fold it in half. I'm not sure what the $70 dollar version of this type of thermometer does better, but it can't be very much.

I know this item is inexpensive and maybe shouldn't be counted on to work well but it doesn't work at all! Not even one time! And I can't use the Celsius to Fahrenheit feature at all. It's permanently in Celsius. Don't bother.

Fast and Accurate Instant read (maybe a second or two) is important to me, especially when I am reaching into a hot grill to check and see if the meat is done. This thermometer does that well. I compared the accuracy with another thermometer and it is just right! The only difficulty I had was getting the probe to release from the catch on the body of the thermometer. There doesn't seem to be enough gap to let me get a grip on the probe. I don't have really big fingers so I expect I'm not the only one that will have this issue. My solution was not to snap it back in place when I am not using it. Unfortunately there is switch that switches when it gets snapped back into place... The on\off switch on the body will work instead.

I am very happy with this thermometer, this is a user friendly item. I was able to just open the box, it included the batteries so I was able to use it right away. it has F and C so I can use it for any type of measuring that I am most comfortable with, also it can be a great gift for my family that uses Celsius as a measuring system. I loved it, was super easy to use.

It has been working very well so far. It is no thermopen but it gets the temp fairly quick and accurate. It just feels very cheaply made. For the price it is great!

Installed the battery that came with this (battery came wrapped in plastic) and the thermometer did not work. This is very lightweight and I questioned if it was missing internal pieces. Changed to a Duracell we had at home and still nothing. Noticed the battery included was corroded. We left the thermometer alone for a while and tried again and it worked. Seems accurate based on air temp and the little we used it so far. I do question the purpose of the decimal point if this is only accurate to a degree, but it’s great for my uses.

Worked well for a few months then got stuck in metric and can't switch and started not turning on.
