The Pencil Grip Heavyweight Ballpoint Pen with Grip, Ergonomic and Best Pens for Smooth Writing, 2.4 Oz- TPG-651, Black

I’m in my 60’s and had 6 surgeries on my carpal tunnel and pronater releases when I was in my 30’s. I still have nerve damage and the older I get, my handwriting is going downhill fast. I found this pen on Amazon a few months ago and it provides a better grip on the pen and is weighted, which allows more control when writing. Wish I had found this pen years ago. ALSO, my husband has essential tremors and it was getting so bad he couldn’t write checks anymore and many times I could not read his handwriting anymore. I bought him this pen and it helped him write better. Couldn’t be happier with this pen! GREAT product !!!

Very comfortable

Pen functions very well and has a good weight to it. It feels a little bulky until you get used to it.

Super heavy quality pen that comfortably improves writing for people diagnosed with Essential Tremor.

If anything, this pen worsened my writing -- probably because I hold pens and pencils eccentrically, between my third finger and thumb. The pen forced my fingers into the "right" position, but that made it harder for me to write "normally" amd legibly.The weighting makes no difference I can see or feel. Perhaps useful to someone who writes in the "right way," but for me, rather a waste of money. Those of us with essential tremor have to keep exploring tricks and work-arounds; I hoped a weighted pen would be one for me, but sadly, not.

I have amended my review down to a 1-star as this pen rapidly became totally useless. I've only had this pen a few months, used it rarely, yet the very tip part which restrains the cartridge's side motions and against which the internal retraction spring rests, came off twice. The second time it failed to stay re-inserted, rendering the entire pen completely useless. Now I understand the reasons behind the bad reviews much more clearly. Just stay away, quality control seems to be non-existent, given the number of very high and very low reviews. ============== This is the best pen I've tried yet! I've been using it for a couple of months now with a good bit of success and have only one complaint so far: it's not quite heavy enough for my purposes, so I'm only giving it 4 stars. For my purposes it needs to be about 50% heavier (6 oz or so). I have a constant fine tremor in my hands that make it extremely difficult to write even semi-legibly. The Heavyweight (about 4 oz) pen makes use of the stronger muscles in my hand which are not as susceptible to tremor. I really like the shaped high-friction gel finger grips as well, while they look strange they also fit the natural angles that my fingers make when I write, giving a particularly comfortable and stable grip. I like this pen much more than the large barrel pens or other ergonomically shaped pens which are made more to reduce issues with grip than with tremors.
