This is not a toy for small children. Very similar to Legos, but also, like Legos, is not meant to be played with by a 9 year old—to be LOOKED at after assembly, yes. That said, two pieces broke and we got an IMMEDIATE reply after contacting the product email site and the pieces are being replaced. In a million years I didn’t think we would get a reply, but we sure did! Prompt and polite and the pieces are on their way!!! Good value for the money, but it depends on how your brain is wired if it’s easy to assemble. For me, no—for my future engineer grandson and husband, yes. Very cool set.

My little boy loved this!! He loves LEGO’s and is currently obsessed with the Titanic so this was perfect! I’m always a little worried when it’s not an actual LEGO brand, but he said the pieces snapped together easily and have stayed in place. It’s also easy to transition from the boat to the transformer, which is a huge plus! Great product!

My grandson is obsessed with both the Titanic and transformers… how wonderful that this is both!

Our avid block/robot 2nd grader builder was excited to get this special 2-in-1 ship/robot transformer, as it's so rare to see a block-building set that can convert into something else. He was happy to put it together, as with all building sets. Initially our 7 year-old wassomewhat disappointed that some of the built parts would come apart when he tries to transform it from one form to the other and we sincerely expressed our sentiments. Maybe it’s unrealistic to expect building blocks to transform like actual engineered Transformers robot toys that are not made of blocks.Some time later as we had already forgotten about this, we were contacted by their customer service to make amends. And our 2nd grader even had a choice in it as well. What an exemplary service to do so! I hope other companies or sellers also try their best to help create great customer experiences while working with realistic constraints. Over a toy! How honorable! And what a way to make customers feel so valued when you thought they had already forgotten you. They really went above and beyond with this.

Impossible to transform without the pieces falling apart. My son is so disappointed. It took me 6 hours to put it together that is not an 8 year old time frame. Waste of money...

Great build idea and genius mechanics but after 4 hours of work it broke when in robot mode and nothing seems to keep it together. The joints are too soft.

My grandson absolutely lived this! Excellent quality, no missing pieces, very well designed with attention to detail you expect from Lego. Assembled to a nice size for play. A bit difficult to assemble for my 7 year-old, but good instructions made it a moderately easy assembly for me. Great value!
