Klaus Heizmann: Vocal Warm-Ups | 200 Exercises for Solo Singers and Choirs | Voice Training Sheet Music for Choir Directors and Vocal Teachers | Singing Warm-Up Book for All Skill Levels Review: Wonderful resource! - Excellent resource! Review: This book used to have a CD inside the back cover. Apparently not anymore.. - I purchased this book along with several others maybe 10 or more years ago and each of them came with CDs inside the back cover. Apparently none of these books come with the accompany CD’s anymore. .The book is great but I can’t imagine trying to learn how to sing, doing scales and warmups , etc without the CDs. The cds also helped to train your ear and to hear pitch, tone, proper ear training as well. You could also hear what it sounds like when engaging “the mask” your mid face, nose, sinus, cheekbones, jaw, teeth especially front teeth, lips, cheekbones and upper pallet that feels like buzzing or almost like a tickle or vibration in the above mentioned. It was very helpful for me in opening up my throat all the way to the back of my upper mouth and the muscles in my face. Learning how proper breath work and movements affect sound.. It was so helpful to sing and do proper warm ups with a vocal coach and made it easier to let go of fear and any self consciousness while doing all of these things along with the singing instructor. Then the instructors would quiet their voices but still using the piano so you could hear what you sounds like. Oh, YES, there was a piano to hear the notes like “okay, upper voices “piano key, “start hear”. “lower voices, start hear” piano notes and scales. My singing books w/cds were stolen. I would be thrilled to have those cds. I wish they were made available for purchase and I would buy them in a heartbeat. I am not a great singer but I learned and improved. I really loved and enjoyed dancing with my voice and didn’t sound like a cat being murdered. Maybe if enough people let the publishers of singing books know how desirable the cds are we could get them to make these available. Let’s start a revolution and let our wishes, our voices be heard!

Great Exercises for Singers of All Levels
This is a great book of warm-up exercises for singers of all skill levels. I can’t wait to use some these! The instructions for how to use each one are clear, and I really appreciate that there’s a section devoted to physical warm-ups too. Those can occasionally be overlooked in favor of vocal exercises only. Definitely worth a look if you’re a singer in any way.

Wide variety exercises for choral and solo warm-up.
I am using this book with private voice students and just beginning to find out how to make it effective. There are many exercises for posture, vocal warm-up, vowel formation, rhythm, and many other skills.

Very helpful for the DIY singer
I am very pleased with this. I have lost my singing voice with age, and am trying to get it back. At first, I was using exercises by singing coaches on YouTube, and hesitated to get this book when they became boring and did not seem helpful enough. However, the multitude of more interesting exercises and variety in this book is invaluable, and I can choose what I need. I could never think of even a small fraction of these on my own and it would be silly to try. I do wish there was a CD for piano accompaniment, but I am entering exercises into the Finale songwriting program as I need them, and eventually can make my own CD to sing along to. Everybody is happy, except the cat.

Very Pleased!
I am a voice teacher and wanted to get some new ideas and man this book delivered! I love how it is set up according to the purpose of the exercise. Also a chapter on warming up the body and bringing awareness to your instrument! Something that tends to get overlooked when warming up to sing! I wish I bought this year's ago!

Recommended by my voice instructor so a decent resource
It's a list of exercises without explanations. The instructions for each are so brief that without a vocal coach/pedagogue they can leave you lost. Recommended by my voice instructor so a decent resource. Kind of like Hanon for pianists, a reference but worthless without a teacher...

Have a Piano on the Ready....
I almost returned this book due to the fact that it's really meant to be accompanied with a piano or keyboard so the user knows what the note they're practicing should sound like. It's impossible for a beginner, with no knowledge of Music Theory or experience playing keyboard, to know what the note should sound like. That said, flipping through the book before repackaging it (for return), I had a change of heart. I think I can still make it work. It won't be anywhere near as effective as working alongside a piano/keyboard, which again is really what this tutorial really calls for - but I believe there is still benefit in that the excercises are some that I would not have thought up on my own. Thank you.

I took choir practice using this book as aid to warm up. The suggested programs are good and fun to use. Some old favourites along with newer stuff. The choir enjoyed it!

A good book full of vocal warm-ups and descriptions of how to use these warm-ups effectively. Each warm-up even shows the proper range to try.
