I bought it mostly for the illustrations, and they are absolutely adorable. Each pop-up scene is packed with detail and movement — there's so much going on in the tiny, intricate pieces. Beautiful book
The pages do pop up, they just need gentle encouragement to sit up the first few times. It's exactly as the photos show. The only slightly disappointing thing was that the first 3d page was very stiff and I made a little tear opening it up, even though I was being incredibly careful. Delivery was faster than promised and the book larger than I expected, so overall very happy with my order.

Pop up?
Waited for this book for a loooooong time. Preordered. Was delayed. Arrived this week. There is no pop up element. Some pages are 3D….except they are not. We love this series of books and I was so looking forward to wrapping this up and putting under the tree for my son. But I’m returning.

Pretty illustrations with not great pop ups
A pretty book, nice size, and a sweet story, the illustrations are lovely, however, every second page is a (pop up) page with layered cutouts which do look and move better the more you use it....Apparently, it needs loosening up initially as it's all a bit stiff when new.....overall though as far as pop-ups go....I wasn't impressed.......Its certainly cute, but I won't be buying any other books from this series

Incredible!
This is a work of art!! I love everything by this author. You get any book by her and the drawings just bring you to the coziest place ever. Again,this is for me,adult,I am not sharing it with anyone,it’s too good. This is a book to put on a display and take out on special moments. Such a treasure. And the story of the author is interesting. What a talented lady. Highly recommend all her books. It inspires one to start some sort of craft or maybe it’s just me. If you love cozy beautiful drawings of creatures and their beautiful houses - get all the books by Jill Barklem!
