Pendulum does not swing. Clock seems to be working fine and pendulum works until we hang it on the wall. Then it stops. anybody else have this problem

My pendulum doesn’t work either. It has new batteries and the time is correct but no pendulum swing. I checked to see if it was sticking or hitting something but I think mine is defective. Not sure if I will return it or just use it as is. The clock is nice but the mechanism seems cheap.

Can this be returned?
