Quality for value excellent
This is a very nice quality item sturdy and beautiful. The instructions were very step-by-step, and easy to follow if you’re good at this type of project .It took my husband and I, and a little help from a friend three days to construct it. We will do some personal touches such as construct a small bar, etc. very pleased!!

Awesome Quality.
As a general contractor I can be pretty picky about products. I have to say, as long as you follow the very simple and detailed instructions, this is a great product. Heavy, stout and tedious, but the end result speaks for itself. Every hole lined up, I had a few extra nuts and bolts for mistakes or breaks and that was great. As the last roof panel went in, I heard a thump, and poof, everything was perfectly aligned and I could not happier. Some parts came damaged in shipping and they sent me replacements in less than a weeks time with no haggle. You absolutely cannot beat this product at this price point. Worth every penny and then some!

Take the time to lay it out first, but well worth it
Not gonna lie, the build was challenging. Be sure to download the Bilt App, which I had to do first and start to use on my own, because my husband refused to. But low and behold after a long trip to the bathroom one evening with his phone he discovered how cool it was and started using it the next day saying "That thing is pretty useful I guess" The app goes through the process with step by step moving illustrations and is a tremendous help. You will need some touch up stain for the inevitable little bumps and scratches that will happen so best to take a piece to a paint store to have it matched. The only thing I could find from Backyard Discovery was that it is a "walnut" stain. Well, Lord help you if you've ever went to Lowes and asked for walnut stain like I did because they looked at me like I had a walnut for a brain. There is about 50 different shades of walnut stain.Laying out all the pieces on tables, in letter/numbered order is extremely helpful as well. All packages are labeled and you will refer back to those numbers repeatedly. The end result is gorgeous, extremely sturdy (we did secure with a few extra screws) and I believe we got most bang for our buck. I researched these for weeks and weeks before making the purchase. This was our first purchase from Backyard Discovery, since we have gotten their potting bench as well and have NOT been disappointed. Great products, highly recommend and no regrets.

Building the 10x12 gazebo
fyi, upon the delivery, the box notes that the "cedar wood" is actually chinese cedar which is not as quality as red cedar...not a deal breaker but it would have been nice for that factor to be in the product description. Google Chinese Cedar:Is Chinese cedar real cedar?Inform Yourself! Know the Difference Between Types of Cedar ...Chinese Cedar- Used by many fence companies because of its lower cost, Chinese Cedar is not actually cedar, it is a fir. Its ability to resist decay and weathering is inferior to Western Red Cedar making it less suitable for fences and other outdoor structures. The other thing to then know is that putting a sealant on the wood BEFORE assembly is highly recomended....took the two of us about 3-4 hours to stain (used Red Cedar as pigment which looks outstanding!) Doing so also familiarized us with the all the parts. Apply sealant every two years is recommended.the Gazebo was delivered in 5 separate boxes on a large wooden pallet all of which weighed close to 800 pounds and each box was pretty heavy, esp the box with the metal roofing. The quality of the boxes and way in which everything was packaged was outstanding. Shipping was with some company out of Seattle and only took 3-4 days to get to NH...but then it took another 4-5 days for delivery from Concord, an hour away. Fortunately the delivery was not in the rain...it would be a good idea to have a 10x12 tarp available in case of rain unless you have a garage where the pallet can be rolled into. In our case once they dropped it on driveway, given the weight of the boxes, it was clear that they were not going to physically be able to get the boxes under cover up on our porch. The combination of pape hard copy and app video instructions is also top notch as is their customer service. I wrote to them via email asking about whether applying sealant was necessary and they got back to me within 12 hours. I used a sealant which was cedar in color and it improved the appearance of the wood. All the wooden parts and assorted screws and bolts are well labeled and pre drilled. It is also helpful to roam thru all of the Amazon reviews for pointers and info. What saved us was a great video on youtube...type in this to find it: Backyard Discovery Arlington 12' x 10' Cedar Wood Outdoor Gazebo. It took my wife and I considerable time and effort to put this together and there were occasions when it felt like Mission Impossible. So we would take a break and watch the youtube video more closely. The printed directions and the app give you important info on part #'s and how things go together but it does not for example show you how to go about putting it together...for example, the youtube we found showed how to push the completed roof sections up a 2x4 ramp. Each roof section is very large and very heavy....I could not imagine how my wife and I could have gotten them up on the roof even with the ramp idea. So we paid a carpenter friend and his son to stop by and we managed to get the roof up.For $2000, overall, the gazebo is a great deal and a bit of a marvel of engineering and very attractive to boot.
