Does anyone know if you can put this thermometer in the oven?

I don't know about an oven but I used it in a smoker that runs at 250 degrees.

is the lens glass or plastic?

My best guess is glass. Otherwise, it would melt at high temperatures.

What should this read at room temperature?? I calibrated it in boiling water st 212 and it went back to about 70 when it cooled down. Thanks in advanc

That would all depend on what temperature you keep your room. The thermometer should read the air temperature. If you calibrated it at 212, you should be good to go.

I don't know about your options, but I'd avoid the KT. The clip is too weak to hold the thermometer in place.
