MOKA TIMER 6 CUPS

The Moka is totally electronically controlled, and turns itself on at random times throughout the day, which is DANGEROUS because it gets hot. It means I have to unplug it to stop it singing it's “coffee ready” song!It often starts and gets hot without anyone having touched it and has burnt 3 people so far because if you try to unscrew the Moka to refill it, it is boiling hot.I returned it to SOTEL in Germany, the sellers, who found nothing wrong with it, would you believe! Astonishing, that, isnt it! I have another Moka, the same model, that doesn't do this at all, so I know the Moka I returned is going wrongSotel wanted to ship the Moka back to me as it is, and I have refused to accept it. I fear for my friends and would not want them burnt, as before.This is for Amazon – Do not sell this Moka, it is a DANGER to everyone and I would strongly recommend you remove this seller AND the Moka from all of your websites. If someone else gets burnt after this warning to you, you leave yourselves open to a full scale law suit that would be totally unnecessary from Amazon's viewpoint.I repeat my warning, this is a DANGEROUS Moka, DO NOT BUY IT!

Had it for almost one year, used several times a week as it was in my office kitchen. Had to return due to malfunctioning. I loved the music signal and function to keep the coffee hot, entertained myself and others with pre-programmed coffee-breaks. I am Ok that it was made out of Aluminum and somewhere in PRC (as I assumed Bialetti engineers would be in QA).First was very excited to receive it. Had the standard Bialetti for years and love it. So this promised to be everything more convenient from same ingenious Italian engineers, but turned out to be a failure.Immediately noticed sadistically sharp corners of the plastic base. I wanted to cut them or brush with sandpaper (but didn't, first for one reason and later for another). After several days of use the built in watch started gaining time like and hour a day and setting timer for "morning coffee" started to be hit or miss action. After several months the base started emitting high-pitched noise and at this point I never kept it plugged for longer than was necessary to make the coffee.And after about six months the coffee maker's wired base started to sound error messages from time to time and refuse to make coffee because, as I experimentally figured out moving the top around the axe on the base, the surface contact of the electrical contacts was not adequate. By this point I did try cleaning and descaling and even showed to a fellow technical engineer. So moving it around the base helped for another couple of months until my wife said she doesn't want a malfunctioning electric device around me and ... she was right; I wanted this coffee maker to work so much that I missed the point it was actually more than half broken already -- I could not use the timer and worried to leave it plugged, to open and close I had to use a thick napkin or paper towel around the sharp plastic base, and the base was obviously and progressively malfunctioning.Thanks to the Amazon CS they accepted return in no time. And I purchased a more solid-built German steel-and-glass unit which is its slow test run since November, so far very practical (and looks better, sadly plays no music when the coffee is ready but I can see it through the glass-top)) ).

I used to use one of the stove top versions when house sitting years (decades!) ago and loved the coffee but was always paranoid about burning it as I remember it needed taking off the hob immediately...or else. As I needed a new coffee maker, I was drawn to this because of the memory of the coffee made by the stove top version but knowing I wouldn't have to hover nearby or risk disaster. It did seem like quite a lot of money for something producing quite a small amount of coffee, but I have not been disappointed with the results. The 'tune' (turned as low as possible) does at least remind me that it's ready if I happen to be in another room, and I'm quite relaxed about the fact that the coffee is not going to keep piping hot for the whole 30 minutes after brewing. It is still early days but at this point I would say it suits me perfectly.

Expensive, but a lovely coffee maker, complete with soothing japanese style "tune" when the coffee is done. Really easy to use and looks robust.It's designed to make very small, strong coffees. So the "6 cups" advertised are espresso style cups - the volume is actually about three quarters of a mug, for those of you looking for one strong mug of coffee in the morning! (Although it's easy to make stronger coffee and top up with hot water to make two mugs). So much less messy than the coffee press my partner had before - I bought it as a gift and he loves it.

Cafetière en service depuis le 3 décembre 2019. Elle a été utilisée environ deux fois par jour en semaine, soit environ pour 120 cafés seulement.Lors du dernier café préparé, la cafetière a produit un bruit d'explosion violent en dégageant un gros nuage de vapeur et une forte odeur de brûlé. Mon collègue qui se trouvait à côté n'a heureusement pas été blessé ni brûlé, mais ça n'est pas passé loin !Visiblement la pression est devenue trop forte dans la partie basse de la cafetière et la valve de sécurité n'a pas fonctionné (nous n'avons entendu aucun bruit avant l'explosion à part la montée du café dans la cheminée de la cafetière). En regardant la cafetière en détail pour essayer de comprendre ce qui s'était passé, nous nous sommes aperçus que le fond de la cafetière avait sauté et que l'eau ou la vapeur restant dans le fond de la cafetière avait créé un gros court circuit qui a fait sauter le disjoncteur du bureau.
