Can you throw this like a ninja star? Just kidding I couldn't resist after reading these stupid questions.

Yes, but you have to keep your throwing arm bent, elbow forward, wrist higher and back. Then slash the arm forward and release the pad. Keep your eyes on the target until contact to steady your aim.

What are its length and width?

right there on the product info.... Product Dimensions: 9 x 8 x 0.2 inches ; 5.6 ounces

can anyone measure how thick this mouse pad is? thank you.

pretty standard, maybe 3 millimeters---but NOT thick. the size is 8x9 inches---larger than most users might need---so the edges tend to curl up a bit because it is not thick. bottom line, it was a very low cost add-on item. good value, but it is not a high grade pad.

If you were to hold the mouse pad up with one hand, how flexible is it? I'm looking for one that's stiff to place in my backpack with a few books. Thanks

This pad is very flexible, it would probably wrap around books, but sounds like you want something more rigid.
