Sculpey PE02 5310 ASSD Liquid Clay Softener, 1 Fluid Ounce

There are a lot of reviews that say the translucent clay is hard to condition, if at all. However, when I received mine, it was hard at first, but quickly became soft enough to work with after heating it with my hands. It’s not sticky at all, and is very good for the price. I made around 20 beads with less than a third of the entire pack. The packaging comes with detailed baking instructions as well. The pack is roughly the size of my palm but it’s a good amount to make small projects with. The color is nice and it’s easy for me to add crushed flowers in and other add-ons. Good product!

This clay requires a good amount of conditioning (i.e. massaging with your hand) but it's perfect for miniature food etc. I use it for every project.

I bought this to make some shapes for my art project. Makes very smooth dough with no cracks, very easy to handle.

Absolutely love this Sculpey clay! The color is vibrant, the texture is smooth, and the softness is just right for detailed work. It was so easy to shape and held its form perfectly while baking. I used it to make a tiny cherry cake, and the result turned out adorable — the color stayed rich, and every little detail came out crisp. This clay makes crafting fun and effortless. Extremely small package and the clay was too hard to work with. When you try to pull it apart, it crumbles. Save your money.

Honestly was going to give this a 1 or 2 stars because as others have mentioned, it's dry and crumbly. I was so excited to add a bit of a transparent effect by combining normal polymer clay and transparent for a pair of earrings. Sadly, didn't turn out how I expected. The clay was dry, and I just could get it to mix well. However! I was scrolling through facebook and saw someone put their translucent clay in a ziplock bag and place it under some warm water. I tried it and it worked! I created a beautiful set of seaglass earrings that were a huge hit at the latest craft fair I attended! You can also get some polymer clay softener that can work as well, though you must add a little at a time. Will definitely be getting this product again!

(追記)オーブンで焼いた後で苔テラリウムに入れて2日ほど観察しましたが、他の蓄光樹脂風粘土の様に柔らかくなることもなくこのまま設置できそうです。ですが、観察の過程でデメリットも発見。他の蓄光粘土と比べると色合いが違います。それが溶けない理由なのかもしれませんが、蓄光の持続時間がやたらと短い。約2秒間で殆ど光らなくなります。商品としてはデメリットよりメリットの方が大きく素晴らしいのですが、在庫管理商品管理に問題があります。古い在庫にあたった様で伸びない曲げられない固い、と製作に直接影響のある被害がありました。クレイソフナーを追加で購入して柔らかくしないと造形に難があります。クレイソフナーを使えば造形もしやすくなりますが余分な出費になります。製造から2年以上の古い在庫に注意が必要です。 ですが、自分の使用用途にはスカルピーしか対応しなかったのでそのまま使います。 次からは古い在庫ガチャに当たらない様に願います。 粘土自体は用途に合えば最高に良い粘土だと感じました。 (初回)硬化後に水分で溶けない蓄光粘土を探してここに辿り着きました。苔テラリウムに光るキノコを設置する為。以前買った他の蓄光粘土は硬化後に設置しても水分を吸って溶けました。藁をもすがる想いでオーブンで焼いて硬化するこちらを購入。到着後、喜び勇んで開封。感想は物凄く固い、、、。夏場のクレヨン位の硬度。曲げるとチーズの様に割れる、、、。スカルピー初めての使用なので正解がわかりません。通常の5倍ほどの時間がかかりましたがなんとか形成。固すぎるので接続部分がとても不安。今から焼きます。硬化後の耐水性や接続部分の強度などは未知数なので試して追記します。 とりあえず物凄く物凄く固い粘土でした。
