The Unseen Hand: An Introduction to the Conspiratorial View of History

Excellent, well written book on our alternate history of America's trails and tribulations from early times to the present with complete documentation even though it's copyrighted 1986. It still is valid today and should be a must read for anybody who considers them selves a patriot!!! Unfortunately, this book may never be printed as a college text in American history unless some astute professor adds it to required reading for students--but it should be mandatory reading for every student in high school as well as college!!-Who controls the publishing houses; the three main ones such as McGraw Hill, Princeton-Hall, and Harper-Collins that issues text books are also controlled by International Bankers--so I don't look for this book to be printed as a text for our educational system anytime! Very well written synopsis of this book by Stephen McCarty! I just started reading this book today but I know it will most likely echo all the other books and documented material I have researched over the last forty years from books like "NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON", to others that relate the truth of our history as told by conspirators themselves as well as avid researches like Mr. Epperson. Having been around for over half a century I have experienced many of these trails and tribulations the author has so painstakingly researched and found them painfully true. I am a patriotic individual who is also DAV veteran from the Vietnam era but never lived off the public dole and always worked until I retired! My oldest son served in IRAQ despite my protest for him not to go---far all wars are fought for monetary gain (International Banksters) in my opinions---our young men and women are mere cannon folder for these banking gangsters! Now what do we do as a Republic to stop this evil stampede that is occurring in America today and has been for the last century? I have mentioned and discussed these issues with various people from all walks of life everywhere I have traveled for the last forty years and to no avail--it seems like it falls on deaf ears. I have even taken to the courts to redress grievances by submitting amicus curiae -... briefs to no avail! I have supported candidates that may have restored our country to a Republic like physical conservatives who believe in the US Constitution-and especially the "BILL OF RIGHTS" but it appears the oxen in the field (some Americans) don't mind having this yoke of servitude around them or they prefer to live in an ILLUSION of freedom. It is not freedom when the government takes from the producers of society and gives to those who are like leeches that live off the blood of productive members of society!!! Needless to express folks don't understand, know or either don't care about the debt/banker relationship that our former Presidents warned us about many years ago--The FEDERAL RESERVE AND IRS---both private entities that suck the blood from the labor of Americans and happen to be the planks of the Communist Manifesto which is another process to enslave the masses and remove the middle class from society! WAKE UP AMERICANS!!!! Let us start today to work on restoring our Republic for our children and grand-children so as not to wake up and find we have an OLIGARCHY government that is almost here today like in George Oswell's -"Animal Farm"? In conclusion, Mr. Epperson offers guidelines for patriots in the USA to stop the evil ones from implementing a one world government. Epperson wrote a book that covers quite a lot of information but at the same time, he assembled a very accessible and logically arranged introduction to any reader who is not already well versed in the topic, and that is quite an accomplishment. His worldview is firmly Christian and while some may see that as a minus, I view it as an important asset, for there is, I am convinced, a spiritual element to the deepest conspiracies. I was not convinced that all of the details he shared are fully precise. There are just a few possibly questionable historical references, but the largest issue I took note of was that Epperson, like so many in the Christian mainstream, is dedicated to the idea of a young earth and predictably cited Henry Morris to that end. I continually wish that Christians would read Gorman Gray's scripture-honoring thesis that the age of the earth is intentionally left open to the very real possibility of longer ages than the classic Bishop Ussher calculation that seems to so often inform the mainstream. Because I accept the idea of an old earth, that does not mean I believe in evolution rather than creation. I'm with Epperson on that one: Darwin's ideas serve the conspiracy. Having gotten the minor complaints out of the way, I wish to heartily recommend The Unseen Hand. Epperson clearly put solid effort into the outline of his presentation, copiously documented his research, and offered a thorough index. He also clearly writes with the idea of helping the reader and confronts the typical novice response that defaults to "...there's nothing we can do about it" once the conspiracy is first grasped. As a whole, Epperson nails it. He puts his finger on the nature of the fight and makes the accidental view of history (that is so commonly and unthinkingly embraced) difficult to remain loyal to. Because he covers so much territory in his exposé, there is simply not the space to develop details in-depth. Instead, he offers enough detail to tie the various parts of the history of conspiracy into a whole. Herein is the great strength of his book. As an overview, it is priceless. Epperson makes the big picture clear so that what has been going on is far less arcane and concealed from view. It's a great book to hand someone who needs to be awakened.

If you want to know just exactly WTF has been going on throughout the history of the "American Republic," this is the NUMBER ONE BOOK to buy NOW! NO JIVE! Author Ralph Epperson is a modern-day TRIBUNE, a guy, historically, who stood outside the Roman Senate and BITCHED when he heard something "through the keyhole" he didn't think was for the benefit of the Roman people as a whole. You won't be able to put this book down. You'll be taking it into the bathroom with you. IT'S JUST THAT MIND-BLOWINGLY GOOD! NUMBER TWO BOOK: "FINAL JUDGMENT" by Michael Collins Piper. Want to know the REAL-DEAL behind the JFK assassination? This book will explain it to you in maximum, hugely-researched detail. Now you know what to spend your money on.

I feel this is a well researched and intriguing introduction to the "untold" side of history. Obviously, as with anything you read, you need to check the references; there are a couple topics Mr. Epperson covers that I'm not sure I'm on the same page with. That being said, I think this book works outstandingly as a basic summary of powers working behind the scenes throughout history. A few chapters do run a bit long but most of the book is divided into more concise chapters which are long enough to cover the basics, but not too much for someone who's looking for an "introduction to the conspiratorial view of history". This is not the first book I've read on the subject and I was extremely pleased that Ralph Epperson refers to Dr. Anthony Sutton (Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler) whose documentation is extraordinary. I also thought this book was worth the price alone for all of the quotes in the book- stuff I never ever heard before in any history book, substantial stuff. It has been sometime since I've read The Unseen Hand, but my recollection of the book is that much of what Ralph Epperson has put together is taken from letters, documents, books, newspapers, most of which can be verified by looking them up. Sometimes the author adds an extra slant or angle, but regardless, the stuff is out there and is often nefarious enough by itself. Not a perfect book, and in a few areas a touch dated (released in 1986) but I have absolutely no regrets for the time I spent reading it.

The explanations in The Unseen Hand make you think, wow, suddenly a lot of things make sense in a way that other theories don't adequently explain. When looking at decisions made by people in power or governments, you typically wonder are they incredibly stupid or incredibly smart. This helps explain. It's both! The problem with conspiracy theory is that you can find a conspiracy in anything, and it's extremely entertaining and intruiging. It's easy to see only what you want to see. It's also easy to not realize that you can have an "unconcious conspiracy", for example, the fomenting of war is a great way to sustain an economy, but the people in power that do it, probably believe in what they are doing. It's not a conspiracy as much as it is a delusion created by the desire for power and a lack of a strong spiritual base. So I don't know what is really true or not true in this book, but I don't doubt that a large portion of it is, either as a concious or unconcious conspiracy, but it is a great reminder, that the number one rule of business or any group activity, is that those in power are often extremely selfish, and their behavior typically defies imagination. (But we need to be also reminded that many people in power are good people.) So overall, I recommend the read. It's a highly educational read, inspires us to think more carefully about what is really happening, and is very entertaining. However, I have a hard time recommending this book to friends for one reason. The author contends that the Earth is not billions of years old, but perhaps thousands of years old!! He is contending that there is a conspiracy to support the evolution theory over creationism in order to discredit religion, and thus people's moral base. Now, I think he may have a point, and it's possible that evolution is divinely influenced, because it's hard to understand how mutations could be so clever even over millions of years. But to say that the Earth is only thousands of years old, considering geology, erosion, mountain formation, etc., is so utterly ridiculous, that I almost stopped reading the book when I got to that point. I think the author did damage to his reputation with that section. I began to wonder if he was some religious freak who was trying to manipulate me, at that point I seriously questioned his analysis. However, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, which was hard, because he did have credibility because what he was saying made sense on some very serious issues. However, I would be very careful in the consideration of the accuracy of the information. Very careful (And I don't have time to research it). But this is life, listen to extreme positions, you might learn something....and enjoy. PS: I think disco was introduced by somebody to destroy our spiritual base and thus contribute to the wreckage of our country. It's hard to be a child growing up, discovering romance and sexuality and essentially be told by what you perceive to be "public opinion", i.e., broadcast music, that you, as a budding young adult, thinks EVERYBODY listens to, that you need to be overtly sexual with somebody you don't know. What about having a decent conversation. Same with all that excessive glamour. Try reading a book instead. (If you read this one, you'll probably be better for it, provided you don't become an extremist). But, there are conspiracies closer to home, just look at the managers you work for. There's a 50/50 chance you'll find some kind of conspiracy, and a poorly executed one at that, with a bunch of second rate managers.

'BEWARE THE E BOOK VERSION' - The E book version is almost unreadable do to the paragraphs being jumbled (sentences chopped up), but what I've been able to piece together so far I found very informative, could someone please comment as to whether the paperback version is free of formatting issues, I read through a few reviews and didn't see any issues with formatting so I'm assuming most reviews are not the E book version I got. I gave 5 stars as I don't think it fair to hold the E book formatting issues against the book in general. I have gotten no comment back from Amazon yet about the issues w/the E book and the formatting issues are bad enough that I would not recommend anyone to bother w/the E book. I have bought several E books and this is the first time I have experienced this issue so I don't know how Amazon typically handles E book problems. What I have pieced together from the book so far has been about explaining the importance of the Constitution, the differences in governing, how the masses are manipulated, etc. which I myself have found to be very well explained in a way that the average person (such as myself) can understand and seems like a must read for most people.

This should be used as the basis to revamp all US textbooks. Ralph Epperson's "The Unseen Hand" really is one of the greatest books ever written. It's backed up with end notes and takes from other amazing books such as None Dare Call it Conspiracy. The great thing about this book is you can jump around from chapter to chapter, if you want to read how the Civil War was created by the bankers and both sides funded by the Rothschilds you can read just about that. How many people know what Seward's Folly was? Was it really a folly? How did Hitler, an uneducated little hater in a tiny group of radicals gain such power and so fast? For anyone who's ever looked back on history and thought, 'well that doesn't make sense', there's a reason. Most of the history we've been taught is wrong. It's time we take it back.

Many more examples to highlight the conspiratorial view of history could have been added by the events who have come after Ralph Epperson wrote his account of western history in '86. Now we can know what 'really' happened. We can finally stop asking the 'why' questions and stop the comments '. . . . things are not make any sense'. Follow the revealed read line and we can finally understand the geo-political and social decisions that are made in response to local, state, federal or world events or circumstances. I had my suspicions before purchasing the book in the early 90s. Now, at least, I know that I was right in not trusting the government of any western state to do right by its people.

A brief but concise explanation on the creeping socialism that has over the centuries been put into play by hidden powers that are never voted in and control our elected politicians, news media, education system, western military-industrial complex, and exert continual pressure on the middle class in an attempt to install a feudal master-servant system on humanity. The author refers to the writings of Antony C. Sutton on many occasions, and these books are also a must read (Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler; Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution; Wall Street and Roosevelt). The movie "The Mission" is an historic and somewhat realistic portrayal of the philosophy of the Jesuits and their philosophy of communal paradise in the Brazilian jungle. I now understand why the Jesuits were disbanded, why the Illuminati (who was formed by a Jesuit) were disbanded by the Bavarian king, why the Iroquois burned Jesuit priests on the stake and ate their hearts, what really went on during the French and Russian revolutions, and possible forces lurking in the background of the American Revolution. It would be dynamite to see this book updated to include the atrocities committed in the 911 incident against the American people.

I first heard about Ralph and "The Unseen Hand" while watching the film "9/11 : The Greatest Lie Ever Sold" by Anthony J. Hilder. Epperson makes an appearance in Hilder's 2004 documentary and briefly mentions the book. That got my attention. I haven't read all of it yet but what I have so far makes sense and is very interesting. Epperson has done a lot of research and much of what he has put here explains the whole picture better.

I loved it....but then if i'm honest I love books like this...in so much as it does appear to be well researched, Epperson throught the book makes strong, coherent arguements that challenges the normal conventional understanding of recent and past history. The whole section relating to Darwin did have some religious undertones, but in fairness, it did what all good books should do....it make me think....yes I still prefer the theory of evolutionary process to God and religion, but Darwin is not as water tight for me now....Overall an enjoyable book to read, just have a small bit of salt to hand when you do. On par with None Dare Call it Conspiracy, and for that matter The PaperClip Conspiracy (however the paper clip Con. was much more fact and fiction)!!!

in 2020 you cannot read a book and say it is the truth. Who the hell knows what the truth is anymore. However something inside me tells me this book is very close to it. Great read and one hard to put down. I knew most of the info already but this is a great collection.

Opposite of everything you have been told: Everything in history is a fluke and historically events and even societies have sort of organically evolved. Right. Read this on a dare and have been somewhat disturbed ever since. Highly recommended to thinkers. Sheep can graze elsewhere.
