I love this computer!I didn't want to shell out too much money, but still wanted to try an Apple Laptop.This was fairly cheap, but since it was an earlier model and older, I thought that the price was justified and I would be getting a product that would reflect the price. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the Macbook was amazingly fast and efficient. The battery life lasts for a very long time, and most times if I just shut my cover I can retain battery life and still have my computer awake.I don't have special programs installed, I mostly use my laptop for basic surfing the internet. Also, the only true program for typing was the "Notepad" and I really hate that app. Word Doc is so much easier, but of course it wasn't a standard program.The overall look is a bit displeasing when you see the newest models. It is white, chunky, and it had very, very, very minor scrapes, but if you had a case, that wouldn't matter. Still, for the price, it is most definitely worth it!

I ordered this Apple computer Refurbished at $154.00, it is better than used, because the used one sometimes had a dead battery, like what you see is what you get, but the refurbished ones are complete & operational. I got this one because it was a newer version, they talked about scratches of normal use, but I did not see any. I liked white, because we use the computer more at night & it is easier to see white keys. It has 2.4 ghz 2gb ram & 160gig drive. Before I bought this one, I knew nothing about apple computers. My Linux were difficult to get the computer to talk to the printer, but dependable otherwise, until grandson got excited playing games, & erased a brown icon, that asked if he wanted to erase the Mint Menu icon. That was the main menu icon, So my wife's computer had limited usage then. The windows ones had virus problems & Windows 10, most of the time did not function. So I was looking for a good cheap computer that works. Now this Apple one is perfect, It was loaded with Firefox, I downloaded Libre Office, which is the best world wide office program, Then I found the System Preference Icon on the bottom of the page, if you seen the Linux System settings, it looks about the same, I found the print & scan file, which helped me install the printer after downloading the printer driver. The hard drive icon is like “my computer”, I put a Micro SD memory chip in a USB adapter, So my wife could move files around to other computers. And now she can print out her files too. Most pictures & Linux files are transferable. I found that Command C = copy, & command V = paste. So I can do about anything I want to do on this computer. It does type very easy, & does not make mistakes on Office Libre, other than the mistakes that I make. I am learning as I go, but this is so my wife has total use for business or whatever. Well here it is Jan 2016 and I'm writing this review on my first Apple product bought new in May '08 and I've been an Apple fan ever since. This MacBook has outlasted multiple other laptops and Desktops and I use it as a desktop replacement for many hours daily. I have the white model which, to my memory has less Ram than the black model (never understood tying memory to color but that's Apple:-) This unit has been great. A few cons which someone with some tech know how could probably fix easily but not me. 1) audio on all Apple products that I've had including three iPhones and two iPads has never been good. On this MacBook it nearly became inaudible with all inner and out controls set to highest. I bought a $ cushioned lapped with stereo speaker and now have excellent sound as well as comfort. I am currently looking to replace this unit but will not give it up altogether as my housemate will get it. It has been a GREAT Value and if you can find one used or refurbished go for it!

I was hesitant to purchase a refurbished laptop, but it arrived, everything seems to work well so far, easy to set up, will let you know if anything changes. Very satisfied for now. Note: the price is such a great deal for students using for research and reports, but is an older operating system so isn't compatible with many newer apps. It won't be able to be upgraded to a newer operating system beyond Lion 10.6 or 7. I bought this for my high schooler to use for school work only, it functions well for that. She uses her phone for social media and playing games.

I had owned Macs in the past, but always thought they were too slow compared to PCs. Apple has long been at the cutting edge of industrial design, but I found the cost of their computers to be too high relative to the performance. I can happily say that I no longer feel that way. After spending time in my neighborhood Apple Store, I finally felt comfortable enough to buy another Mac and I am beyond pleased!First of all, the latest version of OS X is a fantastic operating system. Everything just works. I have had no crashes or other inconveniences in the month I have owned this laptop. I turned it on and it found my network instantly. All three printers were recognized and drivers were installed without having to fumble around with CDs or going to the printer manufacturer's websites.I added an additional 2GB RAM because I wanted to run multiple operating systems. After installing the RAM and VMWare Fusion, Windows XP runs virtually alongside OS X with no noticeable impact in performance for either OS. I haven't had much reason to use Windows lately, but it's nice to have it ready without needing to reboot. (Of course, if you're a gamer, a PC is still probably the best platform for you)Apple is now king in this household and we are in the process of making the switch permanently to Macs for everything. The initial cash outlay is still higher than a comparable PC, but you get what you pay for. Luckily, Amazon offered a small discount plus rebate on this when I ordered. After saving 7% in sales tax vs. buying locally and free shipping with Amazon Prime, it was downright cheap. All I know is I'm ecstatic and I'm not looking back!

Cool laptop for the price - but the OS is out of date and you will see security warnings for your browser everywhere. I suggest upgrading the OS to Linux to extend the life of these things.

A couple of hic- cups , but they were promptly looked after without question, so over all quite pleased

Received the laptop two days early. I was very happy with the item. It had a few scratches. But other than that it was in very good condition. Despite its age it's very fast. I'm used to Windows, so it's going to take me a while to get used to Mac. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Yankeu is a great company to deal with. I give them a solid five stars out of five.

NOT impressed at all I was sold an outdated laptop from 2008 I can’t update it I can’t watch Netflix on it and it decides on it own when it wants to shut off
