A simple and effective approach for parents to prepare toddlers for their first airplane ride Flying can be stressful for anyone – especially young children who don’t know what to expect. Help your little one learn what they’ll actually see and experience with Going on an Airplane, a Toddler Prep Book featuring actual photos and simple, easy-to-understand language. Search ReadySetPrep for other best selling Toddler Prep Books - Going to the Doctor, Going to the Dentist, and Going on a Road Trip. About Toddler Prep Books The best way to prepare a child for any new experience is to help them understand what to expect beforehand, according to the experts. And while cute illustrations and fictional dialogue might be entertaining, little ones need a more realistic representation to fully understand and prepare for new experiences. With Toddler Prep Books, you can help your child make a clear connection between expectation and reality for all of life’s exciting new firsts. Born from firsthand experience and based on research from leading developmental psychologists, the series was created by Amy and Aaron Pittman – parents of two who know (all too well) the value of preparation for toddlers. Review: Perfect for toddlers! - This was the perfect book to prepare my 2 year old for her first flight! It has real life photos, and simple explanations on each page. This really helped her know what to expect with each step, even waiting in lines! Fabulous option to prepare your toddler. Review: Perfect prep for first flight - Read this with my almost two year old several times over the few days leading up to his first flight. He really enjoyed reading it and talking about what we would see at the airport. It was also great that on the day of our flight, we could reference the book and make sense of all that we were seeing and doing. Easy to understand, clear photos, great way to prepare a kiddo for their first flight!

Good subject matter, flimsy quality
Bought for my kids before our first flight. The content is good and explained what to expect really well. But the quality of the book itself is pretty flimsy. Overall it helped prepare our kids.

Helped my 4 year old and 2 year old prepare for their 1st flight
We read this book a week before flying. I was concerned that my 4 year old would have trouble with the noise during the flight, going through the security checks, and the entire process of going through the airport. This book really helped prepare both kids for what to expect and helped give them references when we were going through the process to get on the plane. I love the real-life visuals because we were able to put names on specific things and then were able to call them out when we saw them in real life. They got excited as we were going through the airport and they knew what we were doing and seeing. They both enjoyed the book and I'm a grateful momma to have found this book to help explain things ahead of time!

Prep is key for toddlers!
We bought this book to prep our 23 mo old for his 4th flight and it worked amazingly well! We started reading it about a week before our trip. The pictures are realistic and show all the steps from parking garage to baggage claim. It even included photos and descriptions of wearing face masks for flying. Our son actually understood what was happening during our trip and couldn't stop saying "I fly." We have the dentist book (first appointment coming soon *fingers crossed*) and plan to get the doctor book as well. Please keep adding to the series! Going grocery shopping? Going to a birthday party? Going to a restaurant? I will buy them all!

Great help to prepare our toddler for his first trip on a plane.
Nice pictures, great descriptions, very helpful tool. We read this book together in the weeks leading up to my son's first plane ride and he was very well prepared because of it. I highly recommend it. On a side note, I would also recommend bringing food, like gummies, that your toddler can chew while adjusting to the cabin pressure changes. Also, a toddler cup with a straw can help with cabin pressure changes.

Helped prep kids for flights
This book was great to prepare my 2&5 year old kids for upcoming flights. We read it almost every night in the 2 weeks prior travel, and talked about all the steps involved, which made them really excited. On the day of travel they knew exactly what's coming, were proud to know what's next and didn't get impatient with all the waiting everywhere. It even has steps to put on masks 😷, very much current procedure. The only thing missing was the border/passport check, but understand that's an additional step only for international flights. May be worth adding it as "on some flights". Recommend this product for small kids, and even older ones whom haven't flown before.

Pretty good as a story for upcoming trip
We needed a book to help get our toddler accustomed to the idea of taking a flight for upcoming trip. Chose this book because it uses photographs instead of illustration. For the most part it is really good, esp the mention of children requiring to wear mask - would have been perfect with the following added: 1. Hardcover or board book - May be more pricing still but I much rather pay more for better quality pages - the paper is potential paper cut hazard and it gets crumpled easily with regular reads. 2. Photo of a plane taking off (this is just me being nit picky) Overall I’m happy that I picked this, vs the others available as a story to bridge an upcoming trip.
