The insight you should know
•doesn’t have an overwhelmingly loud noise when in-use •has two power options to choose between, the 12v car port or 120v 3-prong plug. •recommends to run your car engine if using it via the 12-volt port for best results that way. !Does point out that you should give the pump a 10-minute break after 3-minutes of continuous use so as to not overheat it too much. otherwise it handles most applications with little to no issues. +the Auto psi shutoff feature is an awesome feature to have •psi accuracy is within +/- 2psi, Max load being 100psi, ideally, I wouldn't go any higher than 85-90psi just to be on the safe side. •very solid unit for the price •airflow is fairly fast at low psi, takes a bit longer around 35 and higher but moves along. It’s better than anything I’ve had before this.

Well made, heavy duty pump, worth spending the money !
We had this same pump for a number of years, and when it finally gave out, it was replaced by a cheaper pump; it wasn’t ac/dc, had no storage for the cords or adapters, and cheaply made. That’s when we realized just how well made this pump is compared to others. We love that it self stores the adaptors, cords and cables, and that it is ac/dc. We can use it at the car for car and bike tires, or pump up pool floats on the deck. We use it often during the warmer months and need a reliable pump. With the handles it’s easy to pick up. It’s more expensive than many others but well worth it !

IT WORKS!!!!
My Dad bought one of these about 3 or 4 years ago. I used it last Spring (2019) after he died and I had to help my Mom with pumping up the tires on all the stuff. Tractor, Riding Lawn Mower, Car. It's insanely simple to use. Plug it in. Press the button to move the desired Air Pressure up or down, clip the hose end onto the Nib of the tire that needs inflating and press the Power/Start button. It'll inflate almost anything within 35 seconds. Maybe more if it's totally flat but when it comes to those annoying "Low Tire Pressure" Alarms on your car you can tell it to Shut Up in a little as 3 minutes for all 4 tires. No more heading out to the Gas Station with a pocket full of quarters guessing what pressure you're putting in because you can't find that damned tire pressure gauge you somehow lost....Again..... Highly recommend. I literally used this less than 15 minutes before writing this review to stop my wife from bitching about "Low Tire Pressure" for her precious Escape. Serenity Now!!!

Still working after after 2 years 6 months
The first pump I was sent the pressure gauge needed re-calibration. It worked fine but the pump would shut off after a few seconds of operation when I keyed in my desired psi. I figured out that if I set the desired pressure high (100 psi) it would work. But, I sent it back and they sent a new one and it is working perfectly, pressure reading very accurately. Works on both DC and AC. On AC operation pressures are reached very quickly. DC is a little slower as expected. As long as it lasts I'd say it's a nice little pump. Customer service was fast and efficient. After 2.5 years still working perfectly. I use for inflating my bikes and my cars. Still working great after 2.5 years. Use it for my car and my bikes.

It's the little things...
I wanted an electric air compressor for my garage so I can keep my car tires properly inflated. Even when new they lose 1-2 PSI per month and my gas mileage suffers. Finding one that ran on 120v and had a digital pressure gauge was surprisingly hard. Pros: * Digital tire pressure gauge that shows pressure of tire before starting to inflate (although unit has to have power). * Set desired pressure and it pumps until it reaches it, then automatically shuts off. * Quick connect hose coupling makes it easy to connect the air hose to the tire. * Nice storage compartments for adapters (for bicycle tires, balls, and other inflatables), air hose, and 12v cord. * Not terribly loud. * Lightweight. Cons: * Air hose is only about 2 feet long. * 120v power cord is only about 22 inches long. Combined with the short air hose, this makes it useless on 120v without an extension cord (the 12v cord is long enough to get you around the car). * No on/off switch. Plug it in and it's on, you have to unplug it to turn it off. (There is an switch for the compressor, but the air pressure gauge and backlights will remain on as long as it is plugged in.) * Difficult to stuff the 12v cord and air hose back into their storage compartments. * Doors to storage compartments do not close securely. Very easy for them to pop open. * Only claims accuracy to +/- 2 PSI. My unit seems to be within 1 PSI as best as I can tell, but I don't have anything I'm really confident in to compare it to. * Shut-off pressure is, of necessity, the pressure in the hose while it is pumping. After the pump shuts off the pressure can drop some. Inflating tires to 36 PSI the pressure dropped down to 35.5 after the pump shut off. Overall I think this works reasonably well if you intend to keep it in your car and use it on the road, but there are much cheaper options if that is your situation. For having something in the garage that you can plug into the wall, I had to spend another $15 on an extension cord and I really don't like that I can't keep it plugged in. For auto tires or bicycle tires the short air hose is not a huge problem, but I could see it being a bigger issue with blowing up rafts or air beds or other large items.

The best tire inflator to carry with your car
I purchased this tire inflator online at Amazon. I’ve been looking for a compressor that had an automatic tire pressure shutoff, and also able to power it from AC as well as 12V DC from the vans starter battery. The operation was simple, I payed out the extension chord from my garage AC outlet to the tire I wanted to fill and plugged it in. Plugged in the compressor and the display lit up showing 0.0 psi. Attached the air line to the tire pressure showed. I set the pressure on the display to what I wanted and taped start. The tire was about 12 pounds under what I wanted and it gained 1/2 psi every 3 seconds. I checked the pressure with a gauge and it was within 1 psi. I’m very happy with that and this compressor is every bit as good as what they have at gas stations. My only con would be that the plastic covers that inclose the air hose and the DC electric won’t snap closed. Also, the gauge of the DC power chord to me doesn’t seem to be heavy enough thou I don’t plan to use it that way unless I have to.

Save Yourself the Stress, Look Elsewhere
Purchasing this compressor has been the single most difficult Amazon order I've ever had. It was purchased on April 12th, used twice, and completely died by May 21st. The only thing worse than having a new item fail within weeks of purchase was that the return was even more frustrating. May 21st is just past Amazon's 30-day return window. However, per Amazon's website, if a manufacturer's warranty covers the item, Amazon will honor it. The Kobalt compressor has a 1-year warranty. I first attempted to initiate a return via the Amazon app. Nope! The return window had closed. I then phoned customer service. Agent #1 saw the issue and agreed to a refund. Great! I ask him for a QR code to send the compressor back. He said no, since it no longer worked, I could keep it. Thankfully, I didn't toss the compressor out then, because a month later, the refund hadn't appeared. In early July, I called customer service again to explain the situation. Agent #2 said they'll make a "one-time exception" and process a return on the item even though it's outside the 30-day return limit (completely ignoring the 1-year warranty coverage from Kobalt). Fine, I'm not going to argue the details. I returned the compressor, and shortly thereafter, I received a text saying my refund had been processed. EXCEPT! It's for $15.70 less than what I originally paid for the compressor. I call customer service for a third time, and I'm told that the $15.70 is a "restocking fee." A restocking fee for an item that worked 2 times over 6 weeks and then completely died?! A restocking fee that customer service agent #2 never mentioned? And even after I explained why I was returning the compressor, Amazon agent #3 asked me 2 more times to explain why I needed to return the item - it died... it's no longer functioning. I finally got an Amazon credit for the restocking fee, but no one should have to work this hard to get a refund on a manufacturer warrantied compressor that died after 2 uses. Ridiculous! If you must purchase this compressor and have a Lowe's near you, purchase it in-store. The compressor doesn't appear to have a great track record on reliability and taking it back to Lowe's has got to be easier than dealing with it through Amazon.

Fantastic Compressor
I have always used Kobalt products and they always make great stuff. When the compressor arrived at home, I tested it and found it very capable! I have inflated beach balls, rafts, bicycle tires, and car tires with no issue! The construction is top-notch and looks futuristic! Its 4 handles are very handy in grabbing it on the go. It's also very lightweight. Its easy-to-use digital display is very nice and handy, you can set pressures quickly and it's easy to read. I keep it in the back of my car for when it is needed like for flat tires and trips where I would need a compressor. I love it. Buy it, it's worth it.

Great product
Great product. I've used it a couple of times with no issues. I love how everything has its own spot for storage of the cord and fittings. Worth owning.
