I was skeptical about getting a sewing machine for this inexpensive price, but it works great and really isn’t difficult.Great instruction booklet!I haven’t tried any fancy stitches, just normal stitches.I made a Halloween costume for my grand baby, and I hemmed 4 pairs of pants for my daughter, so far.I like that it’s not huge, and I easily store it in my closet inside the box it came in, along with the accessories I need (all in one box).Great value for the money. Sturdy. Good sewing speed and power.Checks all the boxes for me.And it’s really cute too!

I absolutely love the Brother SM1704 Sewing Machine! It was incredibly easy to use right out of the box. Threading the machine and winding the bobbin were both simple and hassle-free. I used it to make a memory bear for a family member, and the machine handled the project beautifully without any issues. I’m excited to take on more sewing projects soon! I have made several projects with this so far. It works well, the directions are good, it threads easily. It is a nice size and not too heavy so I can put it away easily as I have no room to leave it set up. No complaints.

Great machine for the price, easy to set up and use. Only issue ive found is the thread gets caught in the bobbin area a LOT. I have to dig it out quite frequently but this hasn't stopped me from sewing with it. Medium noise, pretty sturdy, i would definitely recommend this machine if you are on a budget!!

I don’t have a large space so I need a sewing machine I can easily pack away and get out when I need it. And this is perfect. It’s light weight and compact in size. But it works like a full size machine. Easy to thread. Easy to use. Great over all machine!

Very forgiving machine as it allows you to make mistakes without requiring much user input. Perfect size and feels like it costs more than it does.

Great little sewing machine. Works perfect and very easy to thread. Really like the drop-in bobbin feature. Love the size and portability of it too. Quiet operation and very smooth. Great value for the money. Had a previous "Brother" sewing machine and it lasted over 30 years. Hope this one does the same. And this machine is so pretty! :) Very happy with this purchase.

This is a good, solid, low cost sewing machine. The only thing to remember is to use medium to small sized spools of thread. On larger spools the thread will unravel and wrap around the spool holder. I’ve read a few reviews of people complaining about that issue but it’s actually a matter of spool size, not a defect in the machine. It’s nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.
