Camp Chef Monterey Propane Fire Pit

I purchased this firepit several weeks ago and have used it many times since it arrived. I was originally going to purchase a larger "square-type" firepit but all the ones that I considered getting didn't offer shipping to Japan (where I'm located). I'm actually happy that the lack of shipping options forced me to purchase this one.Pros:-very sturdy construction, feels like it'll last a very long time.-rectangular shape, fits my patio area very well.-gives off good heat.-the "hammered bronze" finish is really cool.-very attractive black glass.-packaged very well, and arrived very quickly.-hidden tank (up to a 20lb tank).Cons:-a "little" tall, can't put your feet up on this table comfortably.-with it's rectangular shape, you can't rest any decent sized plates on it when you're using the firepit (I wouldn't rest any drinks on it either since they would be fairly close to the flame).-lack of cover (got a cool one on Amazon though).-takes a little while and several tries to start (maybe I'm just not doing it correctly)It uses a typical 20lb propane tank. I've used it for many hours and still haven't had to refill/replace the tank. As for a cover, I purchased a 48"L x 25"W x 18"H Classic Accessories Veranda cover from Amazon and it works perfectly. You can even lock the cover down to the firepit's legs.I also have a Fire Sense Hammer Tone Bronze Patio Heater, also from Amazon that matches the finish of this firepit perfectly, like they were from the same company.Although I did have a couple "cons", given the size and shape of this firepit, they can't be helped. I am very pleased with this purchase.Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a firepit for a small patio space.

We have a small wood-burning fire pit, which my wife and son hate because of the smoke and ashes. We decided to go with a propane table instead. After reviewing numerous tables of varying shapes and sizes, we decided on this one, mainly due to it's size and shape, its ability to be used as a regular table when not in use, and of course the cost.I ordered the table and received it very quickly. When I unboxed the parts, I noticed that several of the sheet metal panels - the two long sides and bottom piece with feet - were pretty badly damaged. This was either a result of the packing/shipping process or a manufacturing defect. It was upsetting because the pieces were bad enough that they would prevent the table from being constructed properly - and I'm paying almost $400 so I expect it to be in good shape. The kicker was that we are in South Florida and received it right in the middle of a little cold snap but couldn't use it. Also, we received it on a Friday evening and I had to wait until Monday morning to speak with customer service.Customer service was very expedient and willing to replace the parts without issue. After I submitted a description of the issues with pictures, they arranged for replacements to be shipped. I received them the following Saturday and immediately constructed the table. It was very simple to put together - just be sure to keep all screws loose until all of the pieces are attached. If you tighten them all the way, it will be very difficult to align all of the parts.We used the table the other night and we absolutely love it. The fact that you can adjust the flame size/intensity allows you to customize your heating experience. It is simple to ignite - open the valve on your propane tank and slowly push in/turn the knob. Within seconds, you are enjoying the warmth and allure of the smokeless flame. The glass rocks are a beautiful touch, allowing the flame to cover the width of the fire zone. The "copper" surface surrounding the fire stays cool to tough and you can rest items on it without worry. When you are done, just turn the knob to "off" and cut the valve on the propane tank and you're done. We also purchased the outdoor cover, which fits like a charm. We did s'mores the other night even though it was just under 70 degrees!Now we just need another cold front to arrive...

I have had this for over a year now and it his not been used that much. Maybe enough to burn through 1.5 20lb propane tanks. It is defective!!! It is a huge fire hazard. A fire keeps on igniting inside of the enclosure directly above the propane tank, no fire should be present in this area. This is exactly why we should buy expensive items from Costco and not Amazon. Ad least Costco would refund your money where Amazon won't protect the buyer after 45 days. This could be a single faulty unit however I am stil giving it a 1 star. Next I am writing the seller to see if I can get a refund or exchange at least. I will follow up in a week. If I don't follow up then I was treated poorly by the seller

I purchased this product for an entry way patio. Mostly for its size, being long and skinny, and also for its price. I had read the other reviews and found myself straightening out bent parts like many of the other reviewers. One of the feet on the base was really crushed, along with the edges of some of the side panels. I was able to carefully pound the foot on the base back into shape to where it is not very noticeable. A pair of duck billed vise grips made straightening the side panels easier. Once that work was done assembly was quick, easy and straight forward, just pay attention to the instructions for orienting the panels. In fact I spent way more time straightening things up than the assembly itself. The finish on the top is quite nice, and there was adequate glass pebbles to cover the burner. The flame is very attractive, and it does give off a bit of heat when it is on high. Overall this is a fantastic product, but I would have gladly paid $10.00 more for better packaging to prevent damage in shipment.

Love this fire table. Good quality easy to use. Gives off plenty of heat and looks very attractive and easy to assemble.

The fire pit looks cheap and uninviting. I would not ever recommend this product. We were highly disappointed and now are required to pay $1.49/pound (85 pounds) to return this black box.

The table was delivered in a timely manner and the packaging was intact. Assembly with two people is easier due to having one hold while the other assembles. The instructions were pretty good. Two panels had minor damage and had to be tapped back into shape and the fit well. You need a long narrow screwdriver to reach through a narrow port to tighten the last set of screws. It worked immediately and it looks good - just as presented on line. Stones needed to be washed. As mentioned I too will replace some of them with the nicer looking crystals. Overall a good value for the price and is perfect for our location.

Arrived on time easy to put together and is just like the picture
