Gripophone Low Brass Phone Lyre - Mount Your Phone to Trombone, Mellophone, Marching Baritone

I bought this for outdoor marching (shout out to the L Train Brass Band!!) due to flimsy lyre issues with a non-iphone standard paper music one. Though I was skeptical about purchasing this since there were so few reviews, I am so glad that I did. After doing a little research, Grip-O-Phone appears to be one of the only companies making this type of lyre, and though this was sold through Amazon, the vendor is the actual company. Today, I attached it to my horn and it seems like it’ll work great! Definitely grips to the bore of the bell really securely and all of the screws seem to work well. It’s also nice because you can adjust the rotation of the phone, which provides a better view/greater visibility while playing. I haven’t tried marching outside with it, but it seems secure so far. Would recommend!

Exactly what I ordered

I purchased this for my daughter to use during the University of Texas Orange & White game and it exceeded expectations. Once we attached it on her mellophone it didn’t move at all. It kept her phone safely secured all day for rehearsal, the March to the stadium, and the game. If you use electronic music on your phone or you maybe want to record yourself playing this lyre is a must have.

This did not work for my son’s trombone. Piece seems fine but not for a trombone

My first rehearsal with it gained a lot of positive attention! I was faster getting my music ready (compared to a stand) and played better. Attaching was easy. I could rotate phone easily. While there is some weight, its not a problem and the convenience makes all the difference!

Loved how we'll it worked

It fits my son's trombone perfectly. He said it helps his posture while he practices because he doesn't have to look down at a stand. He loves it!

I haven't used this yet. The screws that hold the lyre to the horn are a bit cumbersome. I'll try to center the assembly on my trombone to keep the added weight evenly distributed.
