Awesome toy but arrived USED and broken. Twice.
The actual game is wonderful. My kids love it which is why I gave it 5 stars. However, beware - this toy arrived used. Twice. We got this for Christmas, and clearly the box had been opened previously and taped shut. We decided to keep it anyway, until we realized the toy itself was broken. It would suddenly stop working half way through a game or not turn on at all even with fresh batteries. We returned it. The kids were asking if we could buy again, so I did, thinking the chances would be pretty low we would get a used toy twice. The seller was Amazon, not a third party, which I mistakenly thought would be more reliable. Well, it just arrived, and it could quite possibly be the exact same one I returned, now with even more tape taping it closed. It's going back again, and we will not be purchasing from Amazon a third time. Time to go to a good old brick & mortar toy store!

Great Engaging Math Toy
What an awesome, engaging learning toy! I've had mine for a year, and it's still going strong. My kids use Math Slam on a daily basis. I homeschool, and I am always looking for educational, entertaining toys. This educational toy is just for addition and subtraction. There are many levels of play, from simple addition/subtraction to a double digit addition/subtraction. There IS a volume control, which is excellent. My oldest has autism, so anything that's interactive learning, helps so much more. He actually "works for" the reward of playing it. Great way for special needs kiddos to show you what they really do know. My daughter is now 6, and she wants one of her own to have competitions of who can answer the most the fastest. Math Slam has been used on a daily basis, for the past year, with no issues whatsoever. I came here just to find similar products, and decided to write a review. I paid full price for this item.

Fun but loud!
We bought this for my 5 year old for Christmas. He played with it for about 10 minutes or so, and a few times since. It is extremely loud. I had hoped to use it for car rides, but there's no way I could listen to that voice at that volume in the car so I had to put duct tape over the speaker. Aside from that, it's a good toy and better than having him playing video games or watching TV all the time.

Educational Fun!!
This is a fun little handheld game that teaches the kids without them even realizing it! Haha! Has different levels of games racing to solve equations and training your brain. Good size for any age to hold in their hands! And it's solid, sturdy plastic that won't fall apart.

Sharpened those math skills up like a charm
I homeschool and needed a fun educational tool that my kids could use to sharpen up their math skills. My first grader and second grader are now lightning fast at addition and subtraction. I also enjoy that this game can be be made harder or easier for them to use. My Kindergarten son is now using it . I love how if they miss an answer, the problem gets recycled so they are seeing it more and more to learn it. My kids like to race each other and also try to beat their own times. I suggest it to anyone who needs a new method to engage your kids in math enrichment. Save worksheets for homework- give them math slam to try.

Good concept but poor execution
Good idea, but stopped working after a few uses. Sometimes the right answer is the same color multiple times in a row, but otherwise a fun and engaging way to practice math. 1 star for poor durability

Engaging and loud
I love this toy which is really a math game! Best time to use it is while riding in the car to keep the little one entertained and to increase math facts with a focus on speed. the game is loved by our kids because they like SLAMMING it and being the first or beating the clock. Best age is beginning at age 5 and then having it around until age 10 max. Only thing is it has a somewhat annoying sound system which can be shut off.

Very fun until it stops working.
I've owned two of these. The first one lasted for a few years. Not bad and was very fun and educational. Definitely helps with math and is enjoyable. Loud? Yes it is. So when it died I definitely wanted to get another one. It lasted almost exactly a year. I have more young kids, so I most likely will spring for another and just hope I got a bad unit, but if it dies earlier than I expect then I'll lower my rating.

Just use Aluminum Foil to fix it
I didn't buy it one or 2 years ago since many reviews said there's a defect. But I discovered the defect. Don't throw this product away. I actually opened it and found nothing wrong w any contacts inside. It's where the actual batteries fit. One slot is too tight. After inserting the other two, it further causes the last slot to restrict. The slot has plastic edges that fit around the battery, which pushes the battery away from making contact. So it needs something to help increase the contact such as w foil, washer or coin. And it works perfectly fine. The company needs to contact the factory to alter the mold for the plastic area where the batteries are put into. It never worked for me when I just put in new batteries. I put in my screwdriver where I felt there wasn't good contact, worked on first power button push. ------ Also check if your volume is on high and that your batteries are fresh. If they be sitting in there for a good while. These are reasons why it may not turn on or start acting funny.

Very fun.
I said itโs a bit loud, but it does what itโs supposed to do. Itโs a math quiz and with the lights and the sounds it is sort of attractive to children.

Better than flashcards
My 8 year old twins love this game, and they enjoy challenging me to play as well. With varying levels of play, this toy is appropriate for a wide age range. We have had it a few months, with no issue, and I can tell you that we play hard on it. It has even been thrown in a fit of anger, and come through unscathed. My kids much prefer this game to flashcards, and I can say it's improved one of their math facts.

Good educational toy
I bought this for my 5 year old niece who really like math. A great educational tool that enhances math skills. A bit expensive but worth it.
