Love Songs: The Manhattans

All the songs are great, however my husband and I enjoy, #6. "Cloudy, With A Chance of Tears" and #13, "You're My Life." Since buying this music, we have date night once at week and enjoy slow dancing with each other like we did when we were young. Great purchase for the young couples and those who have been together a life time.

In our house we love all music.So I'm not easily dissatisfied when it comes to music.

I en joy all the products they I buy from amzon music you can find most anything you are looking for I found a cd I look for for years very please.

Great Album

For some good ol' fashioned `Love Croonin', it don't get much better than The Manhattans. If you're looking for `tear the roof off the sucker' action - you gonna have to go next door, or down the street. On romantic nights spent in front of a fireplace with that special someone, while it's raining outside - The Manhattans will have you swirling around the stars.This cd provides a good introduction to the uninitiated. Besides the classics `Shining Star', and `Kiss And Say Goodbye'....there are other gems on this cd that will whet the appetite, and leave the listener wanting to seek out more music from this legendary group. `It Feels So Good To Be Loved So Bad' is probably the song that made me an official `Manhattan-ite'. `We Never Danced To A Love Song' aways blows me away. `Wish That You Were Mine', `Just One Moment Away', `Am I Losing You', `The Way We Were/Memories'......Oooooo - wee!!The orchestrations on The Manhattans' songs are some of the most gorgeous sounds around. Lead singer Gerald Alston is one of the smoothest crooners around, and group's harmonies are always tight.I'll never get tired of listening to The Manhattans, and they will always be one of my all-Time favorite groups.

Es ist eine Freude eine solche Kollektion von Liedern kaufen zu können. Der Sound ist sehr klar, obwohl es schon langsam Oldies werden. Guter Querschnitt über die Karriere von Manhattans.

Kiss and Say Goodbye という曲をかなり前に聴いて以来、耳に残っているのに曲名もアーティスト名も判らないという時期が長くありました。最近になってようやく全てが判りまして購入に至りました。１曲目と２曲目だけでこのＣＤは充分その責任を果たしているように思いますが、他の曲も都会的で甘いソウルラブソングの応酬が続きトロトロに融けてしまいそうです。　一番印象に残ったのはジャケットでした。エンパイアーステイトビルから南を写した夜景が綺麗ですねぇ・・・と見ているとなんと、あの同時多発テロで崩壊した世界貿易センタービルが写っているではないですか！これはなかなか貴重な写真ですよねぇ。

２０歳の頃にグループ名に魅かれてなんとはなしにレンタルショップで借りたのがもう２０年前。ふとまた聞きたくなって購入しましたがやはり「いいもの」は色褪せませんね。最近のＲ＆Ｂやソウルはすっかり打ち込みサウンドになってしまい「ソウル」を全く感じません。この時代の黒人コーラスグループは本当にお洒落な上にソウルフル。夜のドライブで聞くもよし、お酒を傾けながら聞くもよし。ガキの頃は憧れだった大人の世界、今では日々の疲れを癒してくれる存在として大切な存在です。

もうたいへんです、この歌声には泣かされますし癒されます。当時の思い出が楽しく、時には悲しく繰り返されながらシティソウルの真髄にはまりかけていく自分がいます。ラブソングっていいなあ。

ベスト盤には既に『Best Of: Kiss & Say Goodbye』という定番がありますが、こちらも購入してわかったのはデジタル・リマスターされているということです。どちらか1枚となると迷うところです。サンプル試聴してから決めても良いと思います。
