Great item but a little big if you have skinny arms
I love this item because of the material it is made out of. It is a little bit for my arm but I can make it work.

It worked! My son usually requests a Halloween costume based on the kind of weapon that goes with it. We tried ordering it from Target.com but it was broken when it arrived. This one was well-protected and worked perfectly.

Slightly Misleading
This item comes in two pieces. The knife works great, as soon as you push the button the blade pops out. I will be using this part for my costume. However, the picture shows a very nice BLACK leather-looking arm sleeve, when in fact its a chunky piece of grey leather that looks too fake for even a Halloween costume. (be sure to see my picture for a real image of what it looks like) I am making my own nice black leather sleeve and then attaching the blade to it. As long as you don't mind doing the same, then I'd say the knife is worth it.

Works Well, but Be Gentle
I'm always skeptical when buying these assassin blades since you will never know the build quality for how mixed the reviews can be. Fortunately, mine worked. The blade came out when pressing the button and it looks cool wearing it. I'm giving it four stars because you will have to be gentle with it and should be cautious if using it heavily. For what I needed to do (small time filming), it did it's job well.

Horrible product and experience
If you were even able to receive your product in the mail on your first order, it was probably still a let down. Unfortunately I was fooled into thinking this product was at least half way decent. Some comments say it was just as good as the actual licensed product by McFarlane or that it is a good costume piece used to mod for a more accurate look. None of those statements were true however unless I was sent a different item then the others who left reviews. I am not even a major fan who is picking on the small details of the product, it just simply is bad. There was a horrible experience in actually getting the product sent (had to do two orders) and once it came it just felt like a wait of money and time. The vambrace is just cheap flimsy rubber which wasn't even the issue since I would be scrapping it for real leather. The issue was the hidden blade itself which looked terrible. The overall blade is massive and barely fits on my arm but the straps that are used to attach are too short. I knew going in to the product that it was a cheaper plastic blade but I didn't know it was this cheap, having it rattle and retract when moving my arm around. The fact that this product costs $36.99 is laughable! For $37, it should at least be warranted to be a 3-4 star product, especially since the new licensed blades for the newer games are closer to $60. At the end of the day, I think this product was miss advertised and miss priced. Should be listed as a 0 star product that costs $-37 (yes, they should be paying us to have to deal with their garbage).

Perfect for modifying, and not for much else.
Knowing what I would be in for with such a low price, I bought this blade with the full expectation that everything besides the unit itself would be garbage, and I was exactly correct.Do not be fooled by the picture, the actual vambrace looks nothing like it. Rather than a dark brown faux leather, you get a grey, floppy piece of rubber with no attachments. It's held on entirely by the blade straps, which, as expected, are cheap and falling apart. They fit horrifically and the blade itself is attached to the padding on the bottom by the straps, which broke the moment I took it out of the packaging. As for the blade and the unit attached, they are both perfect for my needs. The blade is a stiff plastic, immediately making it more viable than the disgusting floppy one from MacFarlane, and the detail on the housing is nice. The paint itself is variable, I ordered two and both look quite different, but assuming you plan to paint it yourself, that's no issue at all.One issue I did have is that the spring is quite soft and the blade seems to fall back down a bit if held vertically, (not that it really matters in this case) but the actual length of the blade is wonderful. It extends past my fingertips, and my hands are quite large (21cm from the base of my palm to tip of my middle finger). The internal mechanism is quite hard to work with for a beginner. If you're planning to make it wrist activated with a string, please be aware that it may not go very well on your first try. If it doesn't matter and you're fine with a push button activation, you won't have an issue. If you are just looking for a blade itself and are fine with buying or making your own straps and padding, this is the perfect thing for you, but if you're looking for a full package with everything you'll need for your costume, buy the MacFarlane version instead, because this one will not even last you one night.(P.S. You can find the MacFarlane one for much cheaper on eBay, if you don't mind the longer shipping time.)
