iPower2 - Low Noise DC Power Supply - Upgrade Your Audio/Video/Electronics [5V / 2.5A]

As I write this review I'm only half an hour into using the power supply and it's made a big difference. I've built a hifi system form older high quality component. Refurbished and improved them to make a very nice system. Quad 66 preamp, Quad 309 amplifier, Mission 773 speakers fed by a Wiim Pro plus and a Rega record deck. The Wiim always sounded bad in comparison to the vinyl. I've always bought good speaker cables so realised small things can make a big difference but have always been a bit sceptical about cables and accessories that claim to improve the sound especially when they involve a reasonable investment. However, purchasing high quality (expensive) cables to connect the components has made a big difference. So I thought it was worth a go at improving the Wiim with a power supply. I had tried it in many USB supplies. They do sound different but none sounded good. The difference the iPower supply has made to the Wiim Pro Plus is remarkable. Music is tight and controlled with a nice rounded bass. I'd thoroughly recommend it on high end components before you decide to try a more expensive streamer.

bang for bucks! i bought this unit to upgrade my Wiim Pro streamer. I use the wiim only as a transport(politely forget the built in DAC). the difference in quality after using this unit is NIGHT AND DAY. Period. If not, then sorry to say(and probably a lot of you wont like my opinion). but your system is not revealing enough. The main area where the difference is audible is the soundstage and separation. The soundstage is more defined and the mid but mainly the high frequency sounds and clearer and a lot more separated and easier to hear the subtle differences. I have been using my wiim streamer for almost two years, and my biggest mistake was that i have not bought this low noise PS earlier :( ... the difference what i hear triggered me to rethink the role of my streamer in my chain and probably will upgrade the streamer(by keeping this PS unit).

Though it may seem expensive for a device to connect the mains to whatever you intend to power it is well made and in my audio system makes a difference. It is powering a WIIM Pro Plus streamer and as others have said the improvement it brings is not subtle. For me lyrics being sung are more obvious; instruments low in the mix become more obvious and their positioning in the soundstage more focussed. If you are somebody who really enjoys listening to music intensely it is worth the money, if you like music for background ambience perhaps less so.

I'm fed up with hearing from trolls who think digital audio equipment just delivers 1s and 0s. I just don't think they have any experience of real music or critical listening. They wouldn't know a holographic soundstage if it hit them. Speaking of which, the holographic soundstage hit me hard after using this ifi power with my Fiio SR11 streamer. I agree with other reviewers, it has the potential, depending on your equipment and ears, to make a massive difference. Huge upgrade.

It's hard to tell the difference with this switched on or off but I do notice my foot tapping more and slightly clearer bass so it does definitely work. Is it worth the price? That probably depends on the amplifier and speakers or in my case studio monitors as well as how well the USB is sheilded in the computer. They would need to be pretty good speakers to notice I feel but my 300 pound Adam audio studio monitors do benefit.

Bought this to run music on Beyerdynamic headphones streamed from a smartphone through a ifi zen dac. Sound quality is outstanding and the wall wart is worth every penny of the price. I'm not sure that I will ever use all the adapters it comes with, but who knows. A real high quality product.

Absolutely excellent

This little thing definitely does make a difference on the sound quality, the design is better than the previous one. Not the cheapest one but it is what it is, if you want great stuff, most of the time you will need to spend a bit more. It does exactly what it says so yes, it is a worthy upgrade. Delivery was super-fast and as someone said on a review ‘IFI sells premium olive oil and not snake oil.’ Couldn’t agree more!

Esta muy bien construido, y viene con una variedad de accesorios útiles. En cuanto si mejoro el fondo negro de mi sistema, diría que lo hizo de una manera sutil.

fixed an issue with my topping dac and eliminated humming and buzz noise from it, this thing actually works, and i tried so many other ways to fix it i wish I had just done this first.

Bonne alimentation qui a amélioré sensiblement le son de mon appareil audio par rapport a l'alimentation de base.

Habe dieses Netzteil für meinen Zen Can Amp gekauft. Ergebnis: sehr guter Sound, Bass ist straffer, Soundstage etwas besser. Würde es jederzeit wieder kaufen.
