F106SX: New Generation Fumoto® Valve with 14mm-1.5 Thread Size

I had originally ordered the F106N for my 2012 Mazda MazdaSpeed3 and 2012 Honda Odyssey V6. Unfortunately, there's no way to install it because the drain plug is recessed around the drain pan. The realized Fumoto sold an adaptor that extends the F106N further out to you can install it. However, issue is now the drain valve sticks out too much and the MazdaSpeed3 has very low ground clearance. Then accidentally found this model, the F106SX which is comprised of two parts. The threaded bolt and the drain release handle housing. So basically, the drain release housing does not rotate while you tighten down the threaded bolt section just like normal drain plug through the drain release handle housing. That's it! Ingenious, solves two issues with this one product. Solves the precarious ground clearance issue as well as bypassing the extension to clear the recessed drain pain design. Edit: One caveat is that if you ever remove it for any reason say to transfer to another vehicle, I'm pretty sure that you will need to replace the 2 o-rings (1 for the oil pan side and the other for the valve/housing side.

These are excellent - will slow down draining of oil but simplify changes.

I was a bit hesitant on this one at first, but I'm very impressed with the final result. I purchased this for my Range Rover diesel and simply installed with an 18mm socket and 3/8" ratchet. No leaks and looks clean. Easy to adjust the nozzle to whichever position you need before final tightening. I also inquired about the o-ring material to Fumoto as I was concerned about future leaks from the seals; they confirmed that it is viton material so the o-rings are highly durable and should last indefinitely. There valves work exacltly as advertised as long as you ensure you order the correct valve for your vehicle. In my case, I did not do that but it was in no way the fault of the supplier. And many users feel the need to add a washer which is not recommended with this valve. I contacted the seller and received a response immediately confirming that fact.

fuctions great and makes future oil drains simple

I just did my first oil change on my 2016 Mazda 6. It's very well made and although the clip that it came with is okay, I feel it would do its job by holding the lever in place. Also, installing this part was a breeze. As many has said, even though it's pricey, it's very convenient not having to remove your oil drain plug and replacing the washer and o ring (on thr oil drain plug) every time you do an oil change. Once it's on, it should be good to go. So i'm leaving it at a 4 star rating until I see how fast it drains the oil on my next oil change which would be awhile. I will update this review for next time.

Installed on my 8th Gen (2008-2012) Honda Accord. It is well made, and great looking. Fit perfectly and installation was straightforward and easy. I can now change my oil without jacking the car up (if I don't need to change the filter) or spilling a single drop of oil. I don't need to wrestle with a drain bolt or replace crush washers-- I don't need any tools at all. It hasn't leaked or shown any sign of wear or damage in 5k miles. It rotates out of harms way for driving can be positioned however you need for easy access. You can attach a hose if you like but I don't find I need one. I did place a small end cap over the nipple just to keep things tidy. I don't think I could be any happier with it. It's just a small thing but the convenience it adds and time it saves is well worth the price. If you change your own oil or drive as a service, give yourself a little gift.

Why all cars don’t come with these already installed is beyond me. I’ve had this one on my car for 5 1/2 years. 150 thousand miles. Have never had anyone but myself change the oil. This thing makes oil changes much more predictable, and astronomically less likely to spell oil all over the place (although I manage to do that most of the time anyway). The only drawback is the little blue clip that comes with it. Just today, the thing snapped in half as I was trying to put it back on. I got five years out of it, which isn’t bad, but now it is a little unnerving that I would have no preventative measure in place to help prevent the valve accidentally getting knocked open and oil leaking out. But, the way this valve is made, I think the chance of that is very slim. You would have to hit something on the bottom of your car in almost an exact way for the little lever, which has a locking mechanism, to spring open and allow oil to leak out. Overall… Amazing little device, and I’ll never own a car without one again.

Works perfectly. I installed it on my RAM 1500 nearly two years ago, and I have no complaints—still in excellent condition and never leaked. Makes oil changes super easy!

I used Fumoto valves on my GM cars and it is good, but it seems too dangerous to use this valve on Honda Pilot V6 3.5L engine. Drain plug located at the lowest point, which is fine, but valve is L-shaped and it became the lowest protruding part after installation. So, any obstacle met can cause fatality - valve can be broken or open due to lever location. Tried to install and switched back to simple plug. On Honda 3.5L V6 engine valve should be long and strait, not the lowest protruding part.
