Batman Classic: Batman Phonics Fun (My First I Can Read)

We got these for our 4.5 year old. He loves them which in and of itself makes them worth it. In terms of the learning aspects of the books they are pretty good. I'm not an English teacher but the books seem to be set up well. Each book focuses on words with different vowel sounds and lets you show your kids long and short vowel sounds etc.. There is some stylized "violence" if you are really worried about it but it's not that bad. The "violence" usually just consists of Batman in some kind of action pose next to a villain, and usually just ends with the villain tied up and ready to be handed over to the police. The artwork is great and the words are a good mix of short and long so that there are words he can recognize and others he needs help with. I usually just read the books to him and he tries to find words and sounds he recognizes. He does take the books out on his own occasionally and leaf through them which is fantastic! The fact that he is taking an interest in reading is more than half the battle in my mind! I try to make my reviews engaging and useful. This set of books were perfect for my little Batman addicts. They are short so it's easy enough to read all 12 stories at bedtime. I did notice a grammar error in one of the books. I think these books are going to be perfect for my 4 year old to begin reading with. They are enjoyed by a 2 and a 4 year old equally. The box is really nice to keep them together and not just thrown on the bookshelf.

If you are familiar with beginning reader phonic based books, you first think of Bob Books and such. I thought that's what these would be, but with a Super Hero theme. They are pamphlet size books, which is fine and a great price. There is no such thing as a bad book. The series is engaging, but difficult for a beginning reader. Way too many aite words and bonus words for them to remember. The first book that I picked up had a bonus word of "Amazon". ;) My kids know that one! Anyway, the books are great, but I think you will be disappointed if you think they will be able to sound them out like other phonetic based books.

These books are great! My son is in first grade, these have been a little easy for him but they are great for him to bring places. The box is not very big, making it perfect for him to carry around, plus there are twelve different books inside! He enjoys sharing them with friends, showing off his reading skills with family and just reading them in general. It is so great as a mom to see your child enjoy reading!

My son soon turning 4, loves batman and he also loves to “read” He looks at this books every single day and he read them to me” he makes up stories.. so cute” . Books are very durable, words are easy for them to learn and read. Each book focuses in a particular vowel , it makes it fun for them to read COOL books. I would recommend this books to any lil boy loving batman and to any mommy put there wanting his boy to start independent reading.

Got this for my 4 year old who is just beginning to sound out words. The intro page gives a list of new words and site reading words based on a specific phonic rule which is good but the story is not a beginning reader level. I was hoping for something with one sentence per page with repeated easy words. This is probaby more an early reader level. On the other hand, She LOVES super hero stories so we have read them together multiple times.. My Godson who doesn't read at all also asked for these to be read to him repeatedly.

My boys were in first grade this year. They were behind in reading. My boys love action, but books written at a level they could read at seemed impossible until I found these. Once we got them, they were going crazy asking if they could read the next one. They loved them and can't wait to read them again. One of my boys is now at level and the other one has improved so much! If you have something your kids love to read it really helps. Also, the pictures are really great and even the story was pretty good for such a low level. Thank you I can read and please make many more. I only wish they would make boxed sets like this at the higher levels. Then I could buy a whole bunch at the same level and similar subjects.

My son is a huge Batman fan (thanks to me)so when the package arrived and he saw a box of 12 Batman books at the beginner level, it really go him excited about reading. He has plenty of video games and other things to entertain him but now he shows more interest in reading that the other options. Great set of beginner books highly reccommend for anyone who is trying to help their kids learn to read!!!

My son enjoys reading these beginner readers every night before bed. We read 1 book a night and his reading skills have drastically improved since we've started. He is in grade 1 and the short, reoccurring, simple words in these books have both made reading more fun for him and boosted his confidence. And shipping was extremely quick. I'd definitely recommend.

My son (4-5yrs) loves to read and loves all super hero's especially Batman. This pack is very well package and can be carried any where and there is also space in side for a snack and pack of cards/small toy figure, whoopee every boys dream. A boy in his class has been struggling with his reading (it's boring!). So for his birthday I bought a set for him.Yep you got it he loves batman. Though some of the words are a little difficult and above their level of reading they both persevere with sounding out the words, and yes the little boy is starting to enjoy reading, result. The books have a picture on one page and text of one or two simple sentences on the other. The stories are simple and each books promotes a theme such as, be good, have good friends, friends help each other etc. Also Superman and Wonder Woman make an appearance. I would like more of these sets for the same price but beware some of them are very expensive why I don’t know, check out Spiderman as an expensive example. All I can say is 'DOOM' on those suppliers you should be ashamed of your pricing parents can't afford them remember our children are your future customers. *******Definitely an item I would recommend, and if the price is right I’ll buy an extra set for the school libuaury*********

That is what they say,Learning is real fun and they are nothing mistaken,so it is but overall if you just chose these twelve mini books'kit about Batman's exciting world you chose wisely.It is the funniest way to learn the long and the short vowels and to begin understanding real texts into a comic's format. It's riveting,exciting and your children will be having a blast for good,inspirational per complete. EXCELLENT PRODUCT.

Is a Xmas gift for my son so I haven't seen the inside yet but I'm sure it will meet my expectations.
