The acclaimed interactive picture book about the changing seasons. “Like Hervé Tullet’s Press Here , Matheson’s Tap the Magic Tree proves you don’t need apps for interactivity,” praised the New York Times . This board book edition is perfect for little hands. Every book needs you to turn the pages. But not every book needs you to tap it, shake it, jiggle it, or even blow it a kiss. Innovative and timeless, Tap the Magic Tree asks you to help one lonely tree change with the seasons. Now that’s interactive—and magical! It begins with a bare brown tree. But tap that tree, turn the page, and one bright green leaf has sprouted! Tap again—one, two, three, four—and four more leaves have grown on the next page. Pat, clap, wiggle, jiggle, and see blossoms bloom, apples grow, and the leaves swirl away with the autumn breeze. The collage-and-watercolor art evokes the bright simplicity of Lois Ehlert and Eric Carle and the interactive concept will delight fans of Pat the Bunny . Combining a playful spirit and a sense of wonder about nature, Christie Matheson has created a new modern classic that is a winner in every season—and every story time! And don't miss the follow-up, Touch the Brightest Star ! Review: A bossy little book that my 18-month-old absolutely loves taking orders from - Tap the Magic Tree has become a full-on performance in our house. I do the reading, my daughter does the tapping, rubbing, shaking, and wiggling. Every page gives her a new “job,” and she takes it very seriously. You’d think the tree might stop growing if she doesn’t tap it just right! It’s hilarious watching her blow the leaves away like she’s trying to clear a whole forest. She’s completely engaged the entire time, no distractions, no wandering off halfway through (which is saying a lot for a toddler). Each page invites her to interact in a new way, and by the end, she’s beaming like she really did make the tree bloom. It’s pure storytime magic! No screens, no sounds, just imagination and laughter. If you’re looking for a book that makes little ones feel part of the story (and gives parents a good laugh in the process), this is the one. A definite keeper and a great gift idea for toddlers! Review: Excellent book about seasons! - Excellent book about the changing seasons and about life in general! Great, visual way for young kids to understand the changing seasons. Love that it is interactive without using a screen! Beautiful, simple illustrations! Highly recommend!

It's MAGIC!
I happen to see this book at a library but it could not be taken out so after we read it in the library, I immediately ordered it for him! His eyes light up as we turn the pages to witness the magic! The text and illustrations are wonderful! The magic of it all is absorbed by an 18 month old and he often chooses to "read" this book or have me read it to him and he taps, rubs and jiggles the pages to see the effect of his magic!

Cute and fun but not "magic"
Very cute book. I only gave it four stars because I wasn't sure from the description if the book "did" anything. No, it doesn't. The child provides the motions - for example, tapping the page, but the reader must turn the page to see what happens. That's fine and it's still a great book to read with a participating child, I just wasn't sure if there were some gadgets, pop-ups, etc. or not.

お気に入りは、blow the tree a tiny kissで投げキッスをするところと、 blow a whooshing breezeでフーッと葉っぱを飛ばすところのようです。
