Just read and practice daily
Overall this book is very handy, I learned a lot of useful things that will help me to solve problems in many areas of my life, like in software engineering. There were times when I also researched about the topic in YouTube and Google to have more general idea, so don't be afraid to google when you don't understand something well. I was not math person in school, but this book showed that the math can be fun and useful for problem solving.

The best thing ever is when I get to know that I can see the new version of Kindle fire.
I'm just saying that it was a good one for me to get. I just want to see the point where it is a great way to get my money on this one. I suggest that the company Amazon has a lot more to do with a new version of kindle fire when you have a great dictionary definition tool for me to get the best out of my favorite part of the day when you get to see the point of readings through the first time in the book with a tap on the text for a few explanations of the meaning of a word in each of the sections of the book. Like a great reference journal of the book which is a great way to get to know what you want to see. The first time I see the new one is the best thing ever when the new one would have a dictionary definition tool for the next and every word so I can get the best out of the best books and it would be the new leader in the world to me that it would be the best way to get the education in my life I live on and a great way to get the best thing everyday, the most important lessons learned from the start of the day, to learn the difference in the morning of every single nuance of any book because of the information on this definition tool.

You Get Alot For Algebra I, Very Helpful
I love all of Professor Sterling's "Dummie Books". I am a bit ashamed of loving this one, however. when I have a problem with one of my Big College Books, I would hope that it would be big and complicated enough for her Algebra II book, but, I find out that the Algebra I book actually has a very good and detailed chapter on what happens to be slowing me down. She is very smart, but apparently she has had a lot of experience either in tutoring, or in helping desperate students showing up during her office hours.... She is Head of the Math Dept at some Mid-West University... no, not Harvard, Yale or Sanford... but she definitely knows her Math (in her Algebra II book she some out with a Neat Trick that she developed herself... the Girl is Smart and she ain't lazy. Clear and Lucid. I only regret that there is not a lot of exercises and problems, like in the College Textbooks.... but for this price.... well, buy her workbooks and such.

Not great explanations of more complicated items.
Long explanations of simple items, not great explanations of more complicated items. Found other sources explained things much better.

Very thorough treatment of the material
I liked how the book was so well written I wished I had this book when I was taking the course in high school in 1966 It would have saved me a lot of grief

Outstanding math guide for those who need extra help or a refresher.
I'm a high school graduate who had excellent math grades in the 80's and 90's. However, when i was taking a practice exam to join the military (the ASVAB) I realized i didn't remember much from what I had learned during freshman year. This book refreshed my memory and made it very simple to understand the most of complex formulas in algebra and complex situations. I highly recommend this guide to anyone looking to refresh their mathematics skills or just to learn something they previously forgotten or haven't learned at all during school.

I have O level C grade and work in year 6 of a primary school as a TA. A basic knowledge of algebra seems to be necessary now to work in year 6 although I don't think it always was so I bought this book as I do not want to look stupid! I would say it assumes a knowledge of maths equating to about level 5 National Curriculum. I am finding it very helpful. I need to keep reading it as I need to know what 'simplify' means and also 'factorise'. I have forgotton now that I am getting on!

I hadn't placed my nose in a maths book since 1976 and wanted to gain a basis to understanding the subject in greater detail. The author presents the subject in a structured fashion and injects this book with plenty of humour to help get the concept across with as little pain as possible. There are plenty of books which make algebra seem dull and dreary, but this is definitely not one of them! I did not read this book from cover to cover, but used it build up an idea of the subject over time. Not having a teacher to help me, I had to rely purely on the text and because of the way this is written did not find it too difficult. I liked the book so much I bought her book, Algebra ll as well.
