Canon OEM part that helps with the camera use if you wear glasses
Glasses wearer here for over 50 years. Using a SLR/DSLR viewfinder has been a problem for me. When younger, you just ignored the nose pushed up on the back of the camera. Now, I cannot do that any longer.Reviewing my full owners manual, I noticed this eyepiece extension accessory for my Canon Rebel T5 (1200D). Read a bunch of reviews about this eyepiece and decided to purchase it through Adorama Camera as an Amazon authorized fulfiller. Received my eyepiece yesterday. What I like:* Direct fit on my camera -- snapped into place and is firmly held in place with the factory attachment points* OEM rubber eyepiece is reused and fits into place on the eyepiece snugly* Viewfinder view is reduced with this eyepiece -- per Canon by x0.7 or 30% reduction in size (I knew that when purchased)* I can now see my lower viewfinder shooting data without having to move the camera around to read it and then reposition to take the shotWhat I have reservations on:* This eyepiece with the extra reducing lenses dims the viewfinder even more* This camera uses a pentamirror viewfinder system and it is inherently dimmer than a pentaprism viewfinder* Had to readjust my diopter settings to take into account the distance and the reduction factor of this eyepiece* My nose still rubs against the LCD glass screen on the back of the cameraOverall, based upon my initial testing only, I like this extension. I have to see how it performs in actual usage.*******07/23/2018 - UpdateWell, I have had almost a month of additional time to use this eyepiece extension. My opinion has not changed.I must say, for me, leaving in the reducing lens works great for me. I can now clearly see the entire frame and lower shooting data without having to move the camera around on my glasses to see everything. That works great with back button focus and moving the rotary dial without missing something in the viewfinder setting up the shot. The reduced view of the viewfinder was a drawback, but not a dealbreaker. It took some time (and practice) to overcome that change.I have noticed that the original rubber eyecup ring you put back onto the extension has a tendency to "pop" off if it rubs up against something. I had that happen when I put the camera back into my camera bag. It popped off and was laying on the bottom of the back. It is not as tight of fit as one would have expected for a Canon accessory.

Canon Should Include this with Every DSLR Camera
I decided to give the Canon EP-EX15 II Eyepiece Extender a try for a couple reasons. First, I tend to wear contacts--but every once in a while I'll wear glasses, and those just weren't working with the stock viewfinder on my Rebel T4i. And second, I got tired of my nose leaving smudge marks on the LCD screen.I'd read all the reviews, knew about the magnification issue, and had pretty much decided to immediately remove the magnifying lenses in the extender as soon as it arrived. However, when I attempted to do so, I realized that none of my many mini-screwdrivers worked with the screws in the EP-EX15II. So I decided to try using the extender with the magnifying lenses in place, just to test things out, and still had every intention of removing the lenses as soon as I procured the appropriate screwdrivers....except that upon testing it out, I realized I barely notice that the extender cuts off the extreme outer edges of the viewfinder's viewable area. In fact, for me the only time this would make a difference is if I'm trying to specifically exclude something from the picture. I will probably, at some point, go ahead and remove the magnifying lenses just for comparison and to see whether I like it more, but honestly--I'm actually completely ok with how the extender works for me as-is. In the mean time, the beauty of DSLRs is that they come with LCDs and most have live view...meaning if it's really that critical to ensure that something isn't captured in the picture, you can verify what you see in the viewfinder against the live view.Of course, as many of the other reviews demonstrate, not everyone agrees with me on this point; either way, don't let the magnification issue dissuade you from trying this extender out. You might, like me, be pleasantly surprised. And if you're not, there's a simple and fast way to fix it.

Works good, with modifications - EVEN on the the Canon 5D Mark II
I don't know what this guy - "Forever Elegant Photography" is talking about on October 18, 2012 where he posted, "Warning - Doesn't fit the 5d MK2!!!. The problem must've been between the back of the chair and the front of the display (user error), because I had no problem whatsoever fitting this eyepiece extender on my Canon 5D Mark II.The modification that other users reviewed about are worth trying to get rid of the 30% decreased view - 2 screws, remove the 2 plastic lenses, put it back together - no problem. Now I can use the eyepiece with my glasses on and my nose doesn't touch the LCD - my wife's nose still does, oh well! The only complaint I have is the extender doesn't stay on very well. The first time I pulled my camera out of the camera bag the extender and the original eyepiece came right off. I didn't see it happen, but noticed it immediately when I put the viewfinder up to my eye. I looked down and saw the extender still attached to the eyepiece in my camera bag. This has happened several times now. Should be an easy fix with a little glue, but Canon could have made the fit a little more precise so it doesn't slip off so easily. Otherwise, a good buy and does what it's designed to do and twice the price it should be sold at.

Bin sehr zufrieden !
