An excellent non-flicker LED monitor
I spent a significant amount of time researching my next monitor, which is being used for my photography workflow. My current monitor was a Dell 2408WFP which has performed well for the past 6 years or so and will become my secondary display. My main criteria were the following:- Resolution: 1920x1200 or above (limiting me to a few 24-27" monitors)- Accurate color reproduction- Minimum height- Cost- Flicker-free- Pivot/Tilt/RotateResolution:As far as I understand, all 27" monitors are 2560x1440 (16:9 ratio) which gives you a good deal of extra vertical resolution (20% minus the size of your taskbar) which is great for productivity. Since I plan to work in Adobe Lightroom at full screen on this monitor, my main issue with the 16:9 ratio is that when working with 3:2 landscape-oriented images, there tends to be some "wasted" space (the gray backdrop surrounding the image) when compared to a 16:10 monitor, thus using the screen real estate less efficiently. The benefits of 16:9 are obvious when viewing 1080p content at full-screen: you no longer have black bars above and below your video.Color:The colors on this monitor look amazing. Since I haven't done any printing of work edited on this monitor, I can't say how accurate the calibrated sRGB profile is yet. According to TFTCentral, in the sRGB mode, the monitor matches the sRGB color space well. I have brightness turned down to about 30-35% which is about 120cd/m2. This monitor can get extremely bright and for color-critical work, you generally want to turn your brightness down to around 120cd/m2 in a moderately lit room.Minimum Height:I work at a desk with a monitor stand to elevate my monitors so minimum height is important in order to view the top of my monitor ergonomically. I have the monitor lowered to the very bottom, otherwise I would have to look up to view the top of the screen. I was considering the BenQ BL2410PT and felt that was the perfect monitor for me (and at half the price, I could purchase 2 identical monitors), but unfortunately that monitor is not sold in the U.S. and the minimum height is too high for my personal setup.Flicker-Free:Many LCD monitors use PWM (pulse-width modulation) to dim their backlight when lowering the brightness, which results in the flickering you'll see if you point your camera-phone or camera LCD at the monitor. This can cause eye fatigue, headaches, and other symptoms for people who are sensitive to the flickering (which you can't necessarily see but some eyes can feel). Knowing that I tend to work in front of a computer for 10+ hours a day, and that I plan to use this monitor for the next 5+ years, I figured it would be best to add this to my checklist of requirements.Pivot/Tilt/Rotate:While it seems kind of ridiculous to rotate a 27" monitor into the vertical position, I still prefer all my monitors give me as many degrees of freedom as possible. One example of where this helps is when posting photos to a blog. Rotating the monitor gives me significantly more vertical resolution, which allows me to properly order/sort my images on a blog post.Features:The monitor comes with a few features that are intended to help prevent eye fatigue and save power. There's a Smart Reminder feature that allows you to set a timer for 20/40/60/80/100 minutes before it reminds you to take a break. There's also a proximity sensor that turns off the monitor if it detects you've left your workspace. This is the sensor on the front panel located at the bottom-center of the bezel. It comes disabled and I've left it disabled due to other reviews stating that the monitor turns itself off even when they're sitting right in front of it.Since this is my first LED monitor, I'm enjoying the fact that it 'warms up' much faster than my Dell 2408WFP which uses a CCFL backlight. This means that I can get started on color-sensitive work much sooner, without waiting for the backlight to warm up and display proper colors. The controls are all touch-sensitive and take some getting used to. I've found that the controls respond most to thumb presses, especially when turning on the monitor. Once the monitor is on, both my thumb and index finger work fairly well as long as the finger complete covers the button you want to press. A neat feature is that the buttons light up when your finger is about 1 inch away, and shut off completely otherwise to limit the number of distracting lights on the bezel. The logo also does not light up.The monitor stand has an indented space that serves as a nice tray for small things such as USB sticks or CF/SD memory cards. This also prevents me from knocking memory cards off my table, which is a small but nice touch to a very good monitor.Notes:This monitor requires a dual-link DVI cable to display at full resolution (or just use DisplayPort, which my current GPU doesn't support). I've heard some issues with the HDMI port but I have no need for it currently so I haven't properly tested it yet. If you want more in-depth reviews about the AVHA panel's performance, I highly recommend reading the reviews from TFTCentral and NCX's review over at WeCraveGamesToo. Both of these reviews were critical in my decision to purchase this monitor. The ViewsonicVP2770 was another option that met all of my criteria but was slightly more expensive. As far as I've read they both perform quite well, and differ mainly if you care about response times and input lag when playing games.

Solid monitor and a great deal
Overall a good monitor. Vibrant colors, comes with plenty of cables, solid build quality and no dead pixels. Works wonderfully with my late 2013 rMBP (Mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort). Easily running 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz.Only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is that the color temperature is uneven. As one other reviewer stated, there is a light pinkish (warmer) hue on the left-hand side and a subtle bluish one on the right. I've had this problem with CRTs before but never with an LCD panel. It's not annoying but definitely noticeable with white backgrounds.Great bang for the buck @ $449!UPDATE 11/18/2014: I exchanged the first monitor in the hopes of getting a better one - but the second one had the same problem even worse than the first. While I was waiting for the exchange to arrive, I bought another because the price dipped to $369 but alas, it had issues as well. Monitor #3 has some pretty noticeable backlight bleed on the lower right-hand edge even though the color temperature is much more consistent across the panel. Interestingly, it was produced in July 2013 whereas the other two were made in April 2014. Maybe this was one of the last ones on the shelf that was pushed all the way to the back? Loaded in first and shipped last? Who knows?Anyway, I'm gonna send them all back and start all over with something else (probably the new Dell U2715H). My end goal is to have two matching 1440p panels at some point in the near future.Playing the panel lottery game is never fun. Good luck!

Mine had bad bleed. Exchange it for another
Noticeable light bleed on right hand side. Do not mistaken light bleed with IPS glow, Mine had bad bleeds. Exchanging it for another, hopefully the second one will do better.Replacement arrived - This one has no light bleed at all but stuck pixels are all over the screen like I'm looking at a galaxy. Replacement is going back right away.

Missing a cable for Mac high definition
Its almost perfect. I have a Mac and when hooked did not give me the high resolution expected. Because to get the high definition I had to purchase the Accell B143-003J UltraAV Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Cable with Latch. It would be a 5 stars if supplied with the monitor. I had to spend some time to do the research for the cable needed.

Peccato...

I cannot say anything bad about the monitors
I cannot say anything bad about the monitors. I bought two of them, along with a dual monitor mount and they work flawlessly.Beautiful color reproduction, narrow bezel and great price. I know some folks had trouble with the touch sensitive buttons, but I was mezmorized by how beautifully they work when i got the monitor. I have a darker office so with the black bezel you cannot see anything and as your hand approaches the buttons they all light up...nice!In any case, once you have it setup, chances are you will not play with the buttons too much and you will appreciate that they are not always lit up.

Wonderful looking screen with small bezels and a good selection ...
Wonderful looking screen with small bezels and a good selection of inputs on the back. I find the touch-sensitive buttons for switching input sources tricky to use - they don't always respond quickly, leading to accidental double presses. Real buttons would have been better.
