Patagonia's reason for being: Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire, and implement solutions to the environmental crisis. Patagonia grew out of a small company that made tools for climbers, as a result Alpinism remains at the heart of a worldwide business that still makes clothing and shoes for climbing--as well as for skiing, snowboarding, surfing, fly fishing, paddling and trail running. In each of these sports, the reward comes in the form of hard-won grace and moments of connection between the athlete and nature. Patagonia's values reflect those of a business started by a band of climbers and surfers, and the minimalist style they promoted; the approach they take towards product design demonstrates a bias for simplicity and utility. At Patagonia, a love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them, and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. Patagonia donates their time, services and at least 1% of sales to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups all over the world who work to help reverse the tide, and they work steadily to reduce any pollution and harms caused by their business activity. They use recycled polyester in many of their clothes and only organic, rather than pesticide-intensive, cotton. Staying true to their core values during thirty-plus years in business has helped create a company the employees are proud to run and work for, and their focus on making the best products possible has brought success in the marketplace.

Great shoe
Very happy so far with these shoes. They are wider than many of my recent shoes (aasics/columbia) and feel great. They also look great and appear to be durable.

Expected better from Patagonia.
The shoes are comfortable but the quality you expect from Patagonia and for a shoe at this price point is somewhat lacking. The insoles are thin and flimsy and the stitching of the soles to the upper is sloppy. Some threads are bunched up creating a pressure point an the threads are just loose under the insole so they can get bunched up. There are a couple of other sloppy finishing touches on the shoe as well.

Great Patagonia construction. A tad wide, but the toe box is nice and comfortable with lots of toe room.
A tad wide, but typical Patagonia quality. I've got several pairs of their shoes. Just took my normal daily 7.4 mile walk in the City and they performed well. I'd buy them again.

quality was not what was expected
Arch support was practically non-existant and upper material appeared to be very flimsy felt more like a slipper than a hiking shoe.

Liked so much I bought another
A great shoe. Seemed a little dried out....like they were stored in a very hot dry warehouse. But they are holding together well and are a very comfortable walking shoe. I bought two.

Three Stars
Wanted the shoes for travel but they felt too big and bulky.

Style and Comfort
Fair price. Stylish and comfy. I loved my 1st pair so much that I ordered a second. When you find something that works you stick with it.
