Q: Can it be used for wood fired pizza ovens?

Yes...IF you are using it just to add Hickory flavor...you could add a wet chunk. If you are planning on "cooking" the pizza with the chunks...then NO. You would need hickory sticks, limbs, log sections.

Q: how big are the chunks? my smoker box is only about 4" x 12" x 2" in deep. want to make sure they would fit

You should be okay, chunks are not that large.

It comes " cured" and ready to burn. Good smoke and flavor.
