A-Tech 2GB DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin Non-ECC SO-DIMM Laptop, Notebook RAM Memory Module

Ordered 2 of these for my MacBook Pro 2012. It originally came with 4GB of RAM (2 x 2GB sticks). According to Apple's literature, the max capacity was 4GB. However, after doing extensive research online, I have found users running laptops with more than 8GB of RAM. So, I took the gamble and bought these. They are working with no issues. Have yet to properly test and evaluate them, but I am satisfied with my purchase thus far.

I used this to update a struggling late 2011 MacBook Pro, with great success!Before: the MacBook struggled to open basic websites and other common tasks.After: the MacBook is very happy, snappy and no longer crappy! The RAM fit perfectly, started perfectly, was recognized correctly and has had no issues.Pro Tip: I used PC3L-12800, this is the number that matters for your machine when dealing with MacBooks. For those worried about the clock speed on the RAM being higher than the mac designation: clock speed is based on voltage and the mac is smart enough to draw only what it is designed for, so installing a 1600mhz chip in a 1333mhz slot has no impact, the computer will still run at 1333mhz. (This does not work in reverse! ie; you cannot put a 1333mhz chip into a machine that requires 1600mhz)(FWIW I also upgraded the HDD to SSD, between those two things, night and day difference).

I purchased this memory to install in and upgrade my son's Acer Aspire E15 Laptop which originally came brand new with 6 GB of installed RAM, 1 4 GB stick and a 2 GB stick How dumb is that? So I immediately added a second 4 GB stick to bring the RAM up to 8 GB but my son wasn't happy. Neither was I.I'm not saying that 8 GB is horrible for most users by any means but my son is an autistic 21 year old who refuses to ever turn off his machine because he leaves numerous windows open, he has everything on it running all the time and it was really running slow. Tortoise like slow!Install was simple, it took under 5 minutes. I removed 3 tiny screw on the back of the laptop to remove a panel so that I had access to the old memory. I pinched both clips on each stick and they flipped up for easy extraction. From there it was just a matter of inserting the new RAM and giving each module a gentle push downward to lock them in and then replace the panel on the back. Voila! Upon booting up the first time after the swap I had no issues. The computer recognized 16 GB as expected and it is now much more responsive.As I did this job while he was sleeping I took the liberty of doing some maintenance work. I defragged, ran the cleaner, did the various updates, etc. Oh, and I deleted his old unread gmail. About 4500 of them! LOLAlthough I haven't owned this RAM for an extended period of time I'm not bothered by reviewing at such an early date. There are so many positive reviews and I have never had an issue with any RAM myself so I am confident.This product is a bargain in price as far as I am concerned. It has made a huge improvement in performance and is worth it's modest price easily. I highly recommend this memory.

Easy to Install - this is installed by removing the bottom plate/cover on the laptop, removing the old chips and replacing with new ones. Care should be taken when fiddling with the cover, don't force it. Also don't forget to ground yourself before touching internals on a PC/laptop.Value for money - memory gets more expensive the older your machine is; this was the best price I could find and was willing to pay; FREE SHIPPING is one other criteria I use.Presentation - really? This laptop memory, what kind of presentation is needed?**** LONG STORY / REVIEW ****Recently upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 due to end of life support for Windows 7. Although the PC worked so-so prior to the upgrade Windows 10 was too sluggish for my taste.The Dell website writes that the laptop only supports 8GB of RAM, likewise with Crucial.com. Other users of similar model/type laptop reported being able to upgrade to greater than 8GB without any issues. So far the upgrade from 4GB to 16GB has breathed new life into this aging laptop. For my purposes it is great - the BIOS ran through some testing when it detected the change in RAM. Even my son noticed how much more quickly things loaded up compared to before - a newer laptop with better processor seemed to lag a bit on startup of the same software.My benchmark was really LibreOffice, in particular the Calc program (Excel-ish software). Startup was very noticeable. Great bang for my buck.

I have also been able to use 2 of these 8GB modules (16 GB total) to upgrade these DELL laptops using the latest bios. The laptops successfully upgraded are:1) Two Vostro 3750 (2nd generation I7-2680QM with Intel HM67 chipsets). The CPU was swapped out from the original Intel I3 (second generation). Chipset will not allow 3rd generation processor or higher processors in this laptop though sockets are same.2) One Vostro 3700 using Nvidia graphics and an Intel HM57 Chipset and OEM first generation I7-740QM cpu. Dell/Intel claimed CPU would only support 8MB - not true. Still limited to first generation CPU upgrades.3) One Vostro 3550- with I5-2410M CPU and HM67 Chipset and latest Dell bios.4) One Latitude 6430 with I-5, 4GB and Nvidia NVS-5200M to a I7-3740QM with 16GB memory. 3rd generations CPUs officially support 32 GB of memory but only 2 slots available.All have been running without issuesMemory arrived in less than a week. I bought directly from A-bit due to the month or longer delays with AP shipment at the moment.Though memory claimed to have a CL11 value I found some to be actually CL9. Memory was from 2 different makers supplied by A-tech.

After 2 months of upgrade, each time need to boot up the macbook pro 15inch mid 2012 , there will be beeping sound. tried removing the ram and putting it back again but still fail.

RAMs worked properly :). Great upgrade for my aging laptop.
