Fabulous device, definately recommend it
I have owned MAC's for a long time; desktops, macbooks, ipads etc so already love the brand and used to working with the systems etc. However this new Macbook Air is the best yet: - The screen quality is crystal clear - the battery goes on for hours and hours with lots of apps open - it charges quickly - the computer is light to carry back and forth to the office - if does not heat up on your lap - apps open quickly, it is super fast - external SD 1T harddrive means all my music is in an easy to carry file and plug in when I want (not included but worth buying) - Screen is almost edge to edge so easy to work on - Fingertouch ID makes opening it after sleep or shut down really easy, along with apple ID purchases. - I think the cost is good to for what you get. Best apple yet, I think that its the M1 chip that makes it so fast.

Believe the hype
The short review for the new M1 MacBook Air is: believe the hype. Lightweight, powerful, cool and silent, coupled with ridiculous battery life make this the ideal laptop for the majority of users. The new M1 processor with integrated RAM and faster SSD is silly. Throughout my use over the last three months it has managed whatever I've thrown at it without issue, be it browsing the web in Safari, managing a spreadsheet in Numbers or editing photos in Pixelmator Pro. Apps launch before the Dock's bounce animation has finished, most impressively with the Photos app library of 1000s of images and videos. Even non-universal Intel apps launch quickly and run smoothly whilst being emulated in realtime. All of this with the MacBook running cool and silent. The battery life is equally impressive. I find that I have to charge the MacBook Air once or twice a week. Previously it would be every other day. Standby battery life feels reminiscent of an iPad. By stepping onto the past, the keyboard is a massive step-up over the divisive butterfly design used for the last few years. More travel and still stable, with a few new additions to the Function row for activating Siri/dictation, Spotlight and Do Not Disturb, plus the bottom left 'Function' key quickly brings up the Emoji picker. It retains Touch ID to unlock the Mac, enable Apple Pay purchases and unlock password protected documents. The trackpad continues to set the gold standard. The only real negative is the FaceTime camera. It is woeful, and that's being generous. Blocky and pixelated even with the extra processing power from the M1s 'Neural Engine' (especially in low light settings), it just doesn't cut it anymore and the extra bulk necessary to install an upgraded camera might be a sacrifice worth making in future updates. The M1 MacBook Air is impossible not to recommend. Apple's first toe into the water of using their own processors in the Mac has been a spectacular success, and the mind boggles and what kind of performance they'll pack into future models.

Absolutely AMAZING!
Coming from a 2015 Retina MacBook Pro, I have to say that this laptop exceeded my expectations. It's so so fast and it gets everything done that I need to do quickly. I love it so much and how fast and snappy the M1 chip is compared to my iPhone. I also do some light gaming on the occasion and I tested The Sims 4, Minecraft and CS:GO. All 3 ran absolutely amazing and I was very impressed by it being able to handle all ultra settings on TS4 without breaking a sweat running smoothly. Battery life is absolutely amazing too especially coming from a MacBook Pro that couldn't last for more than an hour off of its charger without dying. I love how thin and light it is though it is very delicate so I would suggest getting a light hard case that snaps on to it. Though nothing is perfect, though. I decided to get the Space Grey version and it seems that I can see every tiny speck of dust on it which really annoys me. The webcam, though is of okay quality but I do understand the quality not being as good as it is so thin. Continuity Camera coming to macOS Ventura later this year will help a bunch so you can use your iPhone as a webcam. TL:DR: It's very fast. Great laptop, still a good option even with the new M2 Macs coming out (I got mine for £849 on Prime Day so look out for good deals) Get a lighter colour if you hate seeing dust. GET A HARD CASE. Amazing battery. (10/10)

Perfect
I am writing this review on my M1 MacBook Air after over two years of owning it. It's incredible! I've owned six PC's in my life time. Each would get really slow really quick after less than a year and it would become a hassle to use them. But the MacBook runs just like it did the day I got it. It's unbelievable. The MacBook is fanless and thus is silent. Also it hardly ever gets warm. It's actual magic! The only time it got warm was when I was rendering a lot of videos in a short amount of time. Even then it wasn't hot. Just slightly warm. The screen is stunning. Very clear and beautiful to look at. The keyboard is illuminated which is great for when you're in a dark room (which is what I'm currently in). Mac comes with apps too that you would have to pay for on a windows machine such as: - Pages (MS Word) - Keynote (Powerpoint) - Number - (Excel) I use these three regularly and it saves a lot of money not having to have MS365. All their apps can be exported to the Microsoft equivalent if you have colleagues that use Microsoft apps. With the MacBook I have edited and rendered up to one hour long videos. I've had 50+ tabs open. I could write a ten thousand word review about this M1 MacBook Air. But I'll stop now. Just know this, if something was to happen to it today, I would replace it in a heartbeat. It's the best piece of tech I've ever owned.
