Great Product....when it works
This keyless power lock is a great tool to keep the house secure. I use it to lock my back door while working outside around the house or relaxing in the pool. Not having to carry a key and still have full access to the house is very convenient. The only issue I have is that my original lock required 2 keypad replacements and finally quit completely. This unit was purchased to make a complete replacement of the original. Installation was very simple with an absolute minimum of door modification or tooling. At the moment, the new lock is working great, but I'm holding my breath....

Good when worked
Worked for a bit and then malfunctioned. Even changed new batteries.

We've had ours for over ten years...great purchase.
There are things that you NEED and things that you WANT. This was a want that has turned into a need. We bought ours at least ten years ago. I wanted to be able to lock the door, but our son and my husband hated to be bothered with keys. We bought this at a hardware store, installation was quick, no problem. It comes with two keys, but you can rekey the lock to use your old keys, if you want.It has saved many an argument. I like the security of locking the door, even during the day, and my son, husband, and now grandkids who we are raising, can easily unlock the door without waiting on me to get there, it having to get keys out. Our two younger ones have never known using a key to get in the front door, they are 9 and 11.This also allowed us to call back to town when we got stuck by a storm and had to spend the night out of town. I gave my brother the code so he could feed and take care of the animals, bring in the mail, etc.

Electronic Deadbolt-- Half-hour to install
It's a great lock. No getting locked out because your keys are inside when you're outside! The deadbolt is a full 1" and the heavy keeper hasl-o-n-g screws to anchor it into the house framing, not just the door facing. Programming the unlock codes was a snap.My installation had an advantage: this was a replacement for an older version of the same lock. Moisture got to the old one, and the electronics quit.)The new lock went on exactly as the old one came off, no additional drilling or shaping required. It works perfectly. The 'self-coding' key (to override the electronics in case of failure) included easy to follow instructions, and it now matches the conventional lock on my back door. (NOTE: This only works if the key uses the same (eg: Quikset) blank-- if it won't fit in the keyhole, this feature is null. Two (minor, but annoying) things made the difference between Five Stars and just Four:1.) The inside locking knob was so stiff I had to loosen it up with WD40 before the motor could turn it. A smoother bearing or a stronger motor are indicated.2.) The shaft connecting the outside tumbler and the inside locking knob is U shaped instead of square (the old one was square). This pre-determines the position of the inside knob as vertical when locked, horiozontal when unlocked-- exactly 90 degrees backwards from the logical orientation (and the old lock). This resulted in the door being found unlocked overnight a few times, and required some family re-training.If a cypher lock sounds to you like a good idea, this is a good one.

Good lock, wrong photo in the listing.
This lock does what it needs to do, but isn't the same as the one in the photos. The one I received was the same make / model as described in the Amazon listing and it does what I need it to do; however, the numbers are reversed and it more aligns with one of the Kwickset models. As I was replacing an existing Weiser, I researched until I found the one that had the same number alignment. The photos of this item show the same alignment that I had so I bought it (for about $20 more than the ones with the different alignment).I probably should have returned it, but I wanted to get the lock changed, so went ahead and used it.One thing to note . . . the reason I was replacing the previous Weiser power lock was that the cross-hairs (X shaped) section of the deadbolt that allows the lock to be locked / unlocked had worn down to a near circle. Thus, the locking mechanism would only engage 1 out of every 3 or 4 times. Given that this lock was 14 years old, I thought it lasted pretty well.Hopefully, this new one will last as long.

We are very happy with the result and very happy that the same ...
This lock was purchased to replace the same lock that had been installed fifteen years ago which had just worn out. Since it was the same lock, it fit on the existing door with just a small adjustment in the bolt that locked into the door frame. We are very happy with the result and very happy that the same lock was still available.

Works like a charm
This replaced a Weiser lock that was 11-yr-old. It fit the "hole" perfectly and after a little "re-reading" of instructions it worked like a charm. Only draw back is the sound made when pressing in the code. It is barely audible.

Major design defect
Unit has manufacturing design defect. Inside locking handle locked position is verticle rather than the nationally recoginized horizontal position. Very dangerous since it signals that the door is locked when it is actually unlocked. Can't believe that a major lock company could have made this mistake.
