If you are a beginner artist, I'd skip this, but if you want inspiration on drawing different poses its perfect.

Pretty much the perfect book on anatomy if you're interested in women often as your subject in art or just need a quick guide for reference. Has nice feel to the paper and it brings out the drawings

This is a very thorough book on art and drawing the human female figure. At this time, I am looking for something a bit more brief and instruction oriented, but I may return to this book in time. It was interesting and well-written.

Haven't had a chance to get through the book yet, but I recognized the cover instantly. It's a great copy of a beautiful photo of Ekaterina Vandaryeva. A belarusian kickboxing champion.

I mainly do fashion illustration and struggle with making my figures proportional and figuring out where to put shadows. What I appreciate about this book is the different genres of styles. I find the very technical books stuffy, whereas this book shows more modern media, anime, and action poses. I wish it had more emphasis on muscle shadowing although it definitely touches on it. I tried drawing while referring to the book and I gotta say, the step by step is a little oversimplified. However there’s so many figures in this book that eventually I found one to reference. In the end I still like the book and rather than being a complete instructional guide, it’s more like a portfolio of the authors work and a quick behind the scenes of how he gets from photo to his final piece. But I do find it helpful and think it is a good reference.

A great way to gain perspective. I would love one with the male figure too!

Great book

Pages are half blank unless rotated portrait/landscape - it can be completely random - one page will need to be landscape but only fits one page in middle instead of two side by side. At times I would find having to switch portrait/landscape almost every page. Not recommended for Kindle. I wish I had checked before the cancel window closed.
