I am new in this field and this is my very first contact with this subject. I am reading this for second time and things are more clear to me. I truly enjoy the questions after every chapter which make me think deeply about the content of the chapter.

Nothing fancy. It's just a prep book. I'll know more after I take the exam.

This book helped educate and prepare me for the NES test. The practice tests were invaluable . I was well prepared for the actual test due to the content, tests and resources in this book. Great book!

I gave this book two stars because, except for a few questions, it did not help me study for the Arizona AEPA/NES Secondary Professional Knowledge teacher exam. I discovered that the Arizona test is quite different than the same test given in the rest of the country. So, if you are studying for the Arizona AEPA/NES test, do not use this study guide!

WOW! I was surprised to see just how much information they could pack into this study guide. The National Evaluation Series Assessment exam is a daunting thing to prepare for and having study guides like this available make it just a little less stressful. The introduction in the book fully explains what all is on the NES and gives a great look into how it is administered and scored, which helped my understanding of the process quite a bit. This study guide is broken into two main sections, Review & Practice, and includes so much information in between.Section I: Review:Students as Learners - includes Student Development and the Learning Process, Students as Diverse Learners, Student Motivation and Learning Environment, Terms for Review;The Instructional Process - includes Planning Instruction, Instructional Strategies, Questioning Techniques, Communication Techniques, Terms for ReviewAssessment - includes Assessment and Evaluation Strategies, National/State/ and District Standardized Assessments, Terms for ReviewProfessional Development, Leadership, and Community - includes Professional Development Practices and Resources, Implications of Research, Views, Ideas and Debates, Reflective Practices, The Teacher's Role in the Community, The Teacher as Collaborator, Implications of Legislation and Court Decisions, and Terms for Review.Section II: Practice includes Test One and Test Two, along with answer keys. Each test and answer section is approximately 42 pages long.The book is also full of sample questions throughout the text to help you assess your understanding of the topics at hand.Overall this is a great study guide for anyone preparing to take the NES or anyone who is preparing to get their teaching certification in general. It is a fantastic study guide and I think you will be pleased with the contents.

I don't know if it is because I am in Arizona, but this DID NOT prepare me at all. It was all good information but NOTHING in the study guide was on the test. I studied for hours and when it came down to it, I was just as prepared for the test before I even started reading this.

The books have helped me to successfully study for my Teaching tests. Would recommend them to anyone.
