Well made but installation may be difficult.
It seems well made and has worked well for the first week. However, installation took me about two weeks. The instructions lay out 10 steps in 6 languages. The type is so small I needed a magnifying glass and the drawings so small the meaning was often unclear. The biggest problem for me is that it is designed to mount on a vertical masonry wall, while we needed to mount on the horizontal soffit. I eventually did this by mounting the awning on a 2x6" board using 3/8" carriage bolts inserted from the soffit side. I started with bolts 2 1/2" long to be sure to have enough thread, but then discovered that one of the four positions required a shorter bolt because of interference by the turning mechanism. I used 3 1/2" deck strews to fasten the board (with inserted bolts) to the joists. Then the hard part. Using the order of assembly in the instructions, I found it impractical to attach the assembled awning at both ends simultaneously (even with the help of my wife). What worked for me was to remove the two articulating arms, and then one end bracket can be attached on its own, then insert the roller, and attach the other bracket. One is then faced with the challenge of attaching the two articulating arms, which I was able to do with some maneuvering. One of the more difficult aspects of the design is described in the instructions as "Please move part K to a suitable position". No explanation of what makes a position suitable. I think getting the position right gets the arms folded up neatly, but the design makes it difficult/impossible to change the position with everything assembled. In my case, the arms are not quite symmetrical, but I'm afraid to try making any adjustments. As is the awning seems to function fine. I improved the design by leaving the fringe off.

Horrible instructions
Took us over 4 hours to figure out how to assemble! The instructions were the most horrible instructions I have ever had to try and follow! There are no words just very bad quality pictures you couldn't make out. We had to take it apart 3 times to get it right. Also the canvas is not a good quality. I highly recommend buying a better quality awning with proper instructions.

You get what you pay for...
Visited the website to replace the arms that were damaged during a storm. Even fully retracted the arms and braces were bent beyond repair. The welds for adjusting the height were pretty crappy and broke within the first month, and the thing was never fully extended. It was easy to put together, but setting it to the side of the vinyl siding home we have required additional parts and planks, but that's no biggie because I enjoy hobby work...I am going to purchase it again and keep the old ones for spare parts, but that's just because it is cheaper than putting up a permanent deck cover (which I will do eventually). It is not bad for the shade it provides, but I would definitely recommend waiting to put up something more sturdy. In the end, you get what you pay for.

GOOD PRODUCT
The retractable design is my favorite function. Just to easily rotate the crank to open and close. With all the parts and manual, it is so easy to install. But still need 2 people to attach it to the wall. The quality is better than what I expected. Recommend it.

Quality
As others have said directions not as good as they could be but using you tube got it together. Everything was labeled and we had all parts. We have not mounted it yet so can’t totally review but seems like quantity good for the price.

Whats missing on directions
I took all the parts out first and looked how it seemed it should go together tried fitting looking at HOLES to line up with slots which is fairly intuitive THEN I read the directions. Makes a big difference on comprehension of what your looking at when looking at drawings after, as you already saw the real thing. Just inverting horizontally or vertically in opposite position will fix most instantly. On page 3 of directions image 5 it shows the bar. The bar diagram should of shown the holes drilled on the top of the edge facing you with another hole on the underside center not on top side. If you invert the bar the holes will be in wrong position. Also they give L=550mm and L=120mm two measurements with same drawing location. I have the 8x13 foot version and 550mm is the correct one to use. When feeding the canvas through slots it might catch on joint seams of aluminum, just take a large screw driver and pry open a 1/32" and slide across and release once past and it will slide after no problem. Also I would recommend all bolts be coated with anti-seize compound used on your car brakes as this is aluminum and will oxidize over time like a rusted bolt. Be very careful not to get any on canvas or clothes its really hard to get off.Had to buy 6 5" bolts to get through header of garage as its framed not block about $30 home-depot.caThe opener handle isn't reversible to be on right side when facing unit as they didn't thread the other side part #9 which would of made it possible I think but I wanted it as shown so it was fine.I had one for shipping only tie wrap strap missing retaining one spring arm but plastic wrapping held it. The drawings show the tie wrap with a line but no label. I had to put another tie wrap on BOTH sides and left a good inch + of slack to allow arm to open a inch or so , just enough to get the connector slide pin part #18 into the arm from the part #24 leading edge of canvas connecting bar. I had to cut the other shipping tie wrap off to allow it to open enough. You might be able to slide plastic wrap on arm down a little to allow it to open it just depends how tight it was. Mine was skin tight so no movement. Not a big deal 2 second temp fix as long as you have two spare tie wraps around. A dental pick can open a tie wrap too if you slip it under locking mechanism of strap but be careful not to fully release as arm might spring open on you.I assembled fully on ground at once, As long as the main roller #6 and Canvas leading edge bar #24 are in line of each other at ends the part #18 is just tightened where it fits the hole on both arm ends. If you only can tighten the one of two cap screws on part # 18 in the closed position it will hold until you open enough after to tighten second cap screw later. I tightened both at once by tightening one then dropped arm off and tightened the other and put arm back on.Aside from these little details left off of drawing it went together very well and operates perfectly. These details will waste your time figuring it out and result in the bad assembly comments from others. The drawings are very good but the devil is in the details and if you leave anything out the devil comes out which it did.

Great product, and service
This is a nice product. It came with a small hole in the cover, where it had been folded. The company gave me great service, and sent a new cover out, right away. I would buy again

Works well
We are using this over our hot tub in the rain. It works well but we did some modifications to mount it to a wood privacy wall.
