I consider myself reasonably tech-savvy but anybody could hook this thing up. I never looked at the instructions. Unplugged my internet router, turned off the TV and computer (probably didn't even have to do that), plugged everything else I wanted wired into the switch (3 devices), and turned everything on. Perfection. Wireless unaffected. Even the infamously godawful, always-buffering LG Apps and Web OS appear to be functioning better than normal. 500 mbs sustained and sometimes faster speeds on the computer (I'm paying for 300). At this price this little switch is an outrageous deal. Another reviewer mentioned the lack of grippy "feet" on the very lightweight unit and that is somewhat of an issue. But at that price, and not having a premium piece of furniture underneath my stuff I had no problem sticking a couple of small pieces of two-sided tape on the bottom of the switch; problem solved for me.

Easy to setup, helps with cable management and a clean setup. Only uses a small power supply and plug right in. I recommend grabbing a few extra Ethernet cables to make sure you have access to all your devices. As a Custom PC Builder, this is perfect for getting my systems up and running fast without being bogged down by internet issues or WiFi problems.

Very cheaply made. Speeds seem as advertised. Low power. If you need something great, find something else, but if you need something that's just good enough this is a great option. Worth the price.

It's plug and play, no networking knowledge required :)The construction is all plastic, it does feel pretty lightweight and it lacks any sort of rubber feet to prevent sliding. If you value the non slip feet and a higher quality shell I would skip this, but if you're on a tight budget and all you need is more ethernet ports, this is the cheapest gigabit switch on Amazon I think and it does what it should do!

I used this switch for an Xbox lan party and it worked great. Got just about gigabit throughout when copying games using the local network copy option.
