Comes with comprehensive instructions for first time Android user.
Took a while to get around the options, but this was bought for my hearing loss (two deaf aides). The maximum volume from the earpiece is OK-ish, but with the "hands free" speaker turned on, is excellent.Found a problem however with the PRINT command. You need to select your paper size as usual, but for some inexplicable reason Doro has listed A4 as ISOA4 and my Canon TS5000 series printer appears not to recognize this. Even worse, the DORO 8050 builds up file spool errors each time you try, which are presented on the front screen on turn on, and are NOT deletable.Contacted DORO through the Amazon partner link, am pleased to say that a Doro technical agent was on my phone within 24 hrs and fixed the problem through taking over the 8050 and loading up some Canon interface software. Very happy with the service.

Don’t waste your money
Paid £200 for this for my dad, an 88 year old first time mobile phone user. He struggled with it, as did we as the buttons were so different from our own android and apple mobile phones, but he ended up a mobile phone convert. One year on, after a number of problems that required a home visit by one of us, the phone has died. Nothing we have tried has resurrected it - and we’re all quite proficient with mobile phones. Am now getting him a refurbished iPhone that is at least reliable and understandable by all of us, it’s a similar price to this but I know it will last longer.

Out of warranty/ serious problems
Won-over by the thoughtful design and good looks, I purchased this phone in 2020 for £200, for my elderly mother. She'd told me a few times in recent weeks that it would get 'very warm' during charging, but I didn't think it was anything to be concerned about because most mobile phones get warm whilst charging. This week she said she thought there was a problem with it, so I took it away to test it. I'm glad I did, because during charging (both with the supplied Doro charger, and via a standard USB port) the phone got so hot that the charging-plug and the phone casing began melting and giving off acrid, toxic fumes. I think it's fair to say that whatever the problem is, it's clearly a serious fire hazard.

Mum couldn't use it.
A phone that is supposedly aimed at older people, yet my mum found the buttons on it too small to use. The function buttons at the side of the phone are the same size as a normal phone. They need to be much bigger. My mum is completely with it, but found it next to impossible to use this phone. In my opinion it needs to be entirely redesigned. Bigger buttons! There's a gap in the market for someone!

Easy to use
Set up is claimed to be intuitive.I'm not so sure about that.I may have to seek help with the teething troubles I have encountered so far.
