TMNT 1: Nice and dark, had a slight tang of the comic books while staying kid-friendly (for the most part). Animatronics aren't so hot, but admit it -- you're not watching it for special effects anyway! The story is wonderfully goofy: basically setting up the TMNT vs. Shredder, but including such ridiculous themes as ninjas corrupting NYC's easily addled youth in a coordinated effort to steal wallets and random valuables (no doubt to add to Shredder's impressive wall of televisions). But don't let that turn you off... it's a fun flick because it's so delightfully campy, and you can't go wrong with it. TMNT II: TMNT II is not as dark and contains about 90% more cheese than #1. This said, I enjoy TMNT 2 just as much as I enjoy TMNT 1, just for different reasons. Perhaps because it reminds me so strongly of the Saturday Morning cartoon -- it has such a good heart and is so ridiculous that you can't help but come away from it feeling pleasant. Better yet, I feel they tried to include all of the Turtles instead of focusing so much on Raphael. The humor hits the mark almost every time: who can forget lines like "Too Raph!", and how can one not erupt into laughter when a stunned Shredder is warmly embraced by his idiotic mutant cronies? The animatronics/suits look great -- they're easily the best looking in the trilogy. Can't go wrong with the simple story, either -- it hits the right key with some mutant mayhem in the forms of Tokka and Rahzar, mutants who Shredder creates to defeat the Turtles. The most important and enjoyable part: "Ninja Rap." Need I say more? TMNT 3: I never watched this as a child. So when I got the 3-Pak in, I decided to try it out. Unfortunately, it's terrible enough to burn your eyes out: the animatronics/suits are downright awful (the Turtle suits look like they came out of one of those egg machines in the supermarket), the dialogue is goofy, the plot is cheap and idiotic - well, I guess if I were more subjective, I could say that about the other two movies, but at least those campy plots fit with who the TMNT were. This one departs from the TMNT with gusto: they are transported to feudal Japan (utterly out of their element -- part of what makes them interesting is the idea that they could be lurking unseen beneath your feet in a sewer somewhere), where they are accepted by a whole Japanese village with open arms (despite that much of their allure is that they are pariahs), and some villains who are goofy rather than threatening (come on: Shredder could rip your face off... Tokka and Rahzar could throw a 200-pound Turtle thirty feet in the air... and then in TMNT 3 you have a shrimpy daimyo with the wide-eyed gaze and shakes of a chihuahua and some pasty-faced gunrunner with finches). I would have felt cheated had I not realized that you're essentially paying only for TMNT 1&2. 3 was thrown in as a gag, I suppose. Overall: 3 aside, this is a collection you can't do without. The nostalgic value alone is monumental. And the movies are still enjoyable for kids of all ages - ideal for passing on a little of that TMNT bug to future generations! Definitely a must-buy for any TMNT fan, young or old.

Great movie

If you grew up in the late 80s or early 90s, this collection is pure nostalgia. Getting the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III in one package is an absolute treat for longtime fans. The first movie remains the gold standard. It perfectly balances action, humor, and heart while staying surprisingly faithful to the darker tone of the original comics. The practical costumes and puppetry still hold up remarkably well and give the Turtles a realism that CGI often struggles to capture. The Secret of the Ooze turns up the fun with more comedy, memorable one-liners, and fan-favorite characters. It is easily one of the most quotable movies of my childhood and still puts a smile on my face decades later. While TMNT III may not be as highly regarded as the first two films, it is still an entertaining adventure that completes the trilogy and provides a fun trip back to an era when the Turtles were everywhere—from cartoons and action figures to lunch boxes and arcade games. As a retro gaming and pop culture enthusiast, watching these movies instantly transported me back to Saturday mornings, pizza nights, and countless hours spent playing TMNT arcade games with friends. Few franchises captured the imagination of a generation quite like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The DVD set arrived in great condition, the discs played perfectly, and the value is outstanding for three classic films. If you're a longtime TMNT fan or want to introduce the next generation to Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael, this collection belongs in your library. Cowabunga forever!

I'm a longtime TMNT fan. As a kid, I watched both the 1987 cartoon and 2003 cartoon on VHS, plus a whole LOT of Secret of the Ooze on DVD. Admittedly, I never saw the first movie until I caught it on Netflix last year, but I thought that was an excellent movie too. I honestly had no idea this collection existed until I was looking for Blu-Rays I'd be interested in grabbing. I jumped at the opportunity to replace my Secret of the Ooze DVD and have the first movie too. I still haven't touched the third movie yet due to its infamous reputation among hardcore TMNT fans, but I will be watching that, too, to form my own opinion on it. As far as I can tell, the quality of this release is great. I played it on my PS5, for context, which I also used to rewatch the Secret of the Ooze DVD recently and watch the first TMNT movie for the first time on streaming (Netflix) last year. Watching one of my favorite childhood movies in much higher quality than I'm used to is already great, but the first movie was actually the biggest shocker to me in regards to quality. When I saw it on Netflix, it looked very off to me; blurry, grainy, and downright hard to see at times. I assumed that's just how it's supposed to look, but, on this Blu-Ray, those issues just weren't really there. Its practically crystal clear in comparison. Wish I could post some screenshots, but taking pictures of a TV screen on my phone always looks pretty terrible. Unfortunately I can't comment on TMNT III due to having never seen it before, so this Blu-Ray will be my first time watching it once I get to it. If you're at all a fan of the TMNT movies, I highly recommend this Blu-Ray. Its great to have all three movies in one package. This is also by far the best option I've had to watch them, at least for the first and second movies.

Fun movie for everyone.

The first two films are awesome. The first, I maintain to this day, is a stone-cold classic, and possibly the very best thing ever to be graced with the Turtles name. The second is a stupid fun movie, definitely more childish and playing up the humor, but very entertaining in its own right. The problem comes in on that third film...I remember getting it on VHS for Christmas many many years ago and being THRILLED at the prospect of another turtles film. Then I watched it. If the first film is the very best Turtles thing ever, the third movie just might be the absolute worst. The turtles look wretched, the jokes are just horrid non-sensical dated garbage, and while the Turtles have dozens of villains in their canon to choose from, they decide to spurn all of those and go for some generic guy with no personality or charisma whatsoever. Horrible, horrible movie.
