Great machine as is. Even better with upgrades (yes, you can upgrade!).
I've had this computer for about a month now. It's absolutely fantastic. Here's what I did to make it a dream machine:- Added in a Samsung 250 GB SSD and put Windows on that. Boots up in about 5 seconds. It's insane.- Added 4GB of RAM to bring my total RAM to 16GB.- Upgraded GTX 760 to GTX 970. NOTE: Yes, this is possible. The Predator comes with an extra power connector for exactly this kind of upgrade. Plus, the 970 uses less power than the OEM 760 the Predator initially comes with. I used the basic Zotac GTX 970.So now my specs are:Intel i7 4770Zotac GTX 970 4GB16 GB RAM DDR3256 GB SSD + 2 TB HDDI don't like overclocking so the CPU + GPU combo works like a dream. Honestly, the stock specs are already pretty great, so with my upgrades I now have a future-proof BEAST of a machine. It opens up programs in milliseconds. It renders video and audio insanely quickly. It supports dual monitors without breaking a sweat. I can screen capture, play Dying Light on the highest possible settings, and have 10 tabs open on Firefox while playing music on Spotify. I'm very happy with this purchase. And, I HIGHLY recommend you make the same upgrades that I did (RAM, GPU, SSD) if you want a perfect machine.Thank you Acer and Amazon.

CD/DVD Issue, Otherwise Perfect
When I first hooked it up the CD/DVD drive was not recognized. I online chatted with Acer customer service and they couldn't fix the problem. I asked if it could be as simple as a loose connection inside the unit. They said maybe, but they could not do hardware fixes, that required a technician. They said they would set up a free return and repair order so a technician could look at it and repair it, and that would take about 7-10 days. I declined and told them if I was going to have to pack it up I'd rather return it to Amazon. Before packing it up to return I opened the side panel and looked around with a flashlight. Sure enough, the CD/DVD drive was unplugged. I plugged it in, put the side panel back on, reconnected everything, and it worked perfect. After a couple days of use it runs well and is surprisingly very quiet. Great bang for your buck.

Caveat emptor
I purchased this thing when my old computer died without warning back in March. Since hitting my door step it's been nothing but a head ache. I should have know something was up because the foam around the computer didn't fit (it was two backs). I didn't catch the problem at first because it happened on the first night I had it while I was setting it up. What it does is quite simply re-boots itself. It does not matter what is happening at the time, games, video or even sitting on the desktop. The computer will shut off for a second, beep once and start back up. It re-booted 18 times in two months. During that time I tried calling Liquidity Servicing, because they handle Acer refurbished computers. Acer won't touch them after the first sale. After a week of getting a recording stating how important I am, leave a message after the beep we'll get back with you and then it hanging up with no beep, I finally got through to an actual person. They sent me an RMA and two UPS labels, one to send and the other for the return. So away my new toy goes with two backs and lots of bubble wrap to southern Texas to a place called Teleplan, which is really in Mexico. Everyone I've talked to has said the problem is most likely a bad MB or power supply. After one month in their hands, with no updates (I asked) it comes back, without bubble wrap and still two backs. Also, I luck out and get another keyboard and mouse. The access panel on the side is not installed correctly. After set up on the first night all seemed well. The next day while watching a video on YouTube it re-boots. SWEET! I get another RMA because they'll answer an e-mail eventually, I'm in the system now. I send the computer back two weeks later (BTW it takes a week to get there and back). Before I sent it back I photographed everything inside and marked all the components. The "lady" at Liquidity Servicing said she was going to request a special handling for the unit when it got there. This time it only takes three weeks to get it back. I open up the computer (I had to the cover was put on worst than last time and several tabs were bent) to inspect their (Teleplan) work. Imagine my surprise when all my components are still there. The only thing I could see as different was the hard drive. REALLY? It's only the first night and I'm reinstalling (not confidently) some of the software when I notice my 2TB hard drive is only 1TB now. I go to disk manager and find the remaining terabyte is "unallocated". This is getting sweeter every minute. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it reboots and then I can replace the power supply and mother board out of my own pocket. After that I would have been better off buy new. So for everyone else I hope you have better luck with Liquidity Services, especially that nice girl Natasha, and Teleplan. If you see them on your UPS label, pray.
