After 3 years of abuse...
I am replacing these pans after three years of rough service. They were a pleasure to use.We might still be using the original pair for many years to come, except that:Over the years, both pans have been left on hot burners and forgotten for hours with small layers of acidic foods in them. As with any cookware, there is a limit to the number of hours a pan can sit near-empty on a hot burner without harm coming to it. However! We can still use the 8”pan even after having left it many hours on a hot burner with Rotel eating away at its surface. Although the Rotel formed a diamond-hard substance that bonded with the pan, the pan is still handy because of its heavy construction. It has lost its non-stick magic and looks ugly, but is fine for use by the family member who uglied it up.The pans have been subjected to unnecessary scrubbing. Some people in the household see food on a pan and automatically reach for a scrubbie. Actually, even a facial tissue is able to wipe out any food residue on these pans. Dried-on spaghetti sauce can be peeled off the pan so it doesn't reconstitute and make a gooey mess when using the using soap and water. These pans are shockingly easy to clean. The 10” pan was always set on a too-small trivet to cool-- every time, by each of us. Apparently this is not a good idea for any cookware and can cause the pan to warp over time. It should have been left to cool on a flat surface. One of us used spray-on oils like “Pam”. Spray-oils contain a propellant such as food-grade alcohol or propane as well as the oil. Stainless steel can handle this, but fine non-stick cookware cannot handle regular blasts of propane or isobutane. (This is not a slur against PAM-- most people love it, and some cookware-- like stainless steel-- is not damaged by it.)Three years of this kind of mistreatment is a great lifespan. The 12” Unison pan that came with the set is still doing great because we have never left it unattended on the stove or moved it to a trivet. However, it has been subjected to all other abuses listed above, as well as having been chopped at with a melamine spatula to break up ground beef. It's not beautiful anymore, but perfectly serviceable.Other tips: do not put Calphalon Unison into the dishwasher. It says “dishwasher safe”, but don't do it. Perhaps there are some circumstances in which this cookware may be safely washed in a machine. However, your mileage may vary depending on the type of water in your area, whether the detergent contains abrasive minerals, and whether the cookware is washing with a load of mixed metals. Don't take a chance. In any event, it never needs an automatic dishwasher. A quick wipe with a paper towel and a bit of hot water with very gentle soap is all it needs. It comes clean in seconds. Hot water is the same sterilizing agent that dishwashers use.Don't ever use metal utensils, not even metal tongs. Although you personally know how to use metal tongs without touching the surface of the pans, other family members will see you use metal tongs and figure it's an okay thing to do. They will scoop, scrape and stir with metal tongs if they're in reach. These are the pans I want to own again-- we will treat them better next time. We will never again buy spray-on oil. We will hide all scrubbing sponges and metal utensils. We will use a loud timer when food is on the stove. We will put trivets in inconvenient places. We will put a note on the dishwasher.I can't wait until the new ones get here!

Good for the price
Nearly 10 months ago I purchased this item at the same time as another product, Cuisinart FCT22-20NS French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless 8-Inch Nonstick Skillet , specifically to compare them and guide my future purchases. After extensive daily usage of both products I can share my perspective and hope it helps others. I will be comparing only the 8 inch Calphalon pan to the 8 inch Cuisinart. The Cuisinart product is a classic pro-style pan that seemed perfect for what I was after. That said, I was drawn to the Calphalon product by the attractive pricing and decent product reviews I found here on Amazon and elsewhere on the web. I am an avid appreciator of omelettes and there is no better task to test the sticky-factor of a pan than with omelettes - especially as I am a flipper, not a folder.I found both the Cuisinart and Calphalon pans to have good feel to them. The handle design and the weight of the pans is slightly different. The Cuisinart handle arcs higher which I preferred a bit more. The slope of the sides of the pan on the Calphalon is steeper leaving a larger cooking surface area on the bottom. For an omelette flipper the Cuisinart's less dramatic slope made it easier. That said, after a couple weeks of use I could achieve the same results with either. Both pans perform well as a non-stick surface product. Very little effort to keep things from sticking and it required little to no butter or oil to get that result from both. These surfaces on both pans seemed to perform better once "broken in" even though that's not generally a characteristic of this material. Now for durability. I invest way too much in cooking gear to use sharp tools on them. So I stick with just plastic tipped tongs or a silicone spatulas. Period. Regardless of my efforts, both pans are showing signs of scratches on the cooking surface - a very disappointing finding. The Cuisinart looks to have held off scratches much better than the Calphalon. I expect that to start affecting the non-stick capabilities in a couple years as the scratches worsen. Both items are labeled as dishwasher safe and I did take advantage of that and it worked out well. The external surface of the Calphalon is easier to care for than the stainless surface on the Cuisinart. So, it would seem that for half the price the Calphalon performed very well against the Cuisinart. The longevity of the Cuisinart will likely be the differenciator in the long run. But since I received two pans for pretty close to the same price in the Calphalon offering it really does win my vote in the end.

Non-stick surface failed within 5 years of purchase
We are submitting a warranty claim under the lifetime warranty. The non-stick surfaced has failed (see photo). This pan has been well cared-for in the six years we've had it ... plastic or wood utensils and only plastic pad cleaner or dishwasher. Disappointed in durability.Update ... a warranty replacement was promptly provided ... the new pan is less flat and more rounded so it's a little trickier making omelettes.

Good Pans - Solid And Durable. Happy With Purchase.
We replaced our Greenlife frying pans with these and are very satisfied with the purchase. These pans are heavier which allows for better heat retention, distribution and good handling weight. Time will tell for durability but so far clean up results in a like new pan. *I was concerned about the metal handle and heat - it is a smart design and the handles stay cooler than expected.Update : I use this pan almost every day (big one). Yes it has lost some of it's non stick performance - I use it almost every day! It still washes up fine, and some parts look brand new (handle, upper rim). Worth every penny.*The harshest cleaning I have ever given it was a light scrub with an ultra light scotch bright pad.Update : Still using the big pan on a daily basis. Has discoloration in the middle when compared to the sides, which still are the same as day one. One item I overlooked is that I don't cook any meat, only vegetable based and eggs. Going on 2 years and I still count this as one of my best culinary purchases ever.

but does its job perfectly and looks very sturdy. price is good considering its quality
one minor scuff on the pan when received.and just used without returning wishing it is not a big problem.too early to tell 5stars.but does its job perfectly and looks very sturdy.price is good considering its quality.I used more expensive pans of other brand.but they did not last 2years.i will see how long these pans last will keep 5 stars if it lasts more than 2years of heavy use.

Watch out for warping with the larger pan, but overall I am satisfied.
So far so good, it’s been a few months and nothing sticks yet. However, the larger pan warped within the first two weeks. Still works well but I expected better quality with the thicker base. Also not induction compatible.

These are incredible. Just replaced our pans (we went with the green ones recommended by Gwyneth Paltrow). These ones are so much better. Making omelette's is fun again!

Best quality pans I've had. I successfully make everything without a drop of oil in it.
