You don’t need one of these... until you do. Then you’re glad you have one.
If you have a nice PC then this is something I highly recommend. A UPS that can handle the load of running your pc and monitor on battery isn’t something you think you need until you need it. I have my pc, main monitor, and router/ modem plugged in. Middle of a game and the power goes out for a couple seconds in my house (some windy weather / it happens every once and a while). Everthything I was using stayed on. What a revelation. Also! This unit switches from battery BACK to normal power once the power comes back on. That’s essential because if you have to get down under your desk and hold a button to get it back on normal mode then it’s kinda pointless. TLDR: Does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Worked wonderfully during brief power outage. Pc and internet stayed on. (Update): Everything I said before has been 100% backed up multiple times now. This thing is ROCK solid, and will protect against power outages like a freaking CHAMP. It's easily able to handle my entire PC setup with 2 monitors, as well as the modem and router. I don't lose any connection, or have any interruptions even with 5 minute long power outages. What a fantastic investment for anyone who has nice computers that they want to protect.

Solid build looks good
I have had one power blip since installing the USP. Work great. The unit is well built and the display has the information on it that I need. Very simple to use and replacing the batteries seem simple. I think I made the right choice. Also, I ended up contacting their service people by phone. It was a non-technical problem having to do with their account setup rejecting my PW without telling me why. The point is I was able to get to someone on their tech staff very quickly. That is a good sign if there is a problem I can actually speak to someone and get help.

After 5 years still going strong
Bought this in 2020 Sept. Today, January 31st 2026 the power went out. I have my cable modem, a network hard drive and a network switch connected to it. It ran for several hours and that's on a a 5-year-old whooped battery! Pretty impressive actually. Usually after that many years the batteries are crap. So 5-year review I gave this thing five stars!

Seems Solid; Horrible Software
So I bought this as I'm working from home, and my old UPS just wasn't going to cut it during an outage. The smell of electronics is pretty strong straight out of the box, and lasted a couple of days. Wasn't horrible, just noticeable. The unit itself came with around 75% charge, but I always fully charge my UPSs before I use them. I only have my tower, primary monitor and modem/router connected. It's load is 16% and should last around 50 minutes according to the self test. This is more than enough time to disconnect with clients and properly shut down my machine. The software available for this UPS is horrid at best. It can't discover my device, and threw registry errors when trying to run. That was a bit disappointing as I like seeing how things are working when first using a new piece of equipment. I don't know how profitable Tripp Lite is, but I think they could afford a developer to bring their software out of the early 2000s. When a device is found, it looks to have many options that I would've liked to explore. One good thing I can say about the software is, it uninstalls very cleanly. This isn't my first Tripp Lite product, that was bought 22 years ago and is still working. I've always been very happy with their products and I'm expecting the same out of this one.

Tripp-Lite UPS
So far it has been working well for me. It keeps my security camera setup going for a little over 3 hours during a power outage. No issues with the batteries overheating & melting like the former APC UPS did. I like the LCD screen too.

Starting to FAIL in 14 months -- Support is practically non-existent
I have been in the computer business for years and if at all possible I have used Tripp Lite products. I mean 30 years ago I was using and recommending their line conditioner UPS systems from desktops to rack servers. I recently built a home workstation that is a beast. It's priced out at about $7k. I wanted no other UPS than a Tripp Lite. I live in an area where there is lots of lightning and at times the power flickers (about 2 to 3 times a month in the summer). This system would trip with an audible beep and keep my computer system from going down. About 2 months ago when one of those flickers happened, the Tripp Lite emitted a constant beeps and my computer and monitors when down -- hard. This is the worst thing to have happen to expensive equipment and operating systems. The Tripp Lite UPS went down too. I had to long press the power button repeatedly to get it to reset and power back on. (At these times the battery always reports a full charge.) And once I restarted my computer, all seemed to be well. Then a few days later this scenario repeated. I contacted Amazon's support. The support person told me that the unit had a 12 month warranty and was not within a period where they could do anything for me. I replied back for them to read the HEADING on the product. It clearly says 3 year warranty. So I have waited for any response. Crickets. I'm starting to think that their warranty is a fraud. I will never recommend this product line again. When you need them, they don't show up.

Honor their Word
Tripplite is awesome. I have been twice hit by lightning (Florida) and both times they have not only replaced all their devices and/or upgraded them promptly and without argument, but also sent me checks to cover all devices plugged in as per their promised insurance meaning, to date, I have been given far more than they cost. For this reason, I have everything in the house connected to their devices. Our power fluctuates, these devices handle that issue and serve as great backups when needed. The woman I worked with there Yvonne was there for the first strike, gave me her personal contact number and helped me with the second strike as well. If you are having issues, give their support a try - somewhere there hopefully are still the same great values that helped me.

Great backup
This is a great replacement for a more expensive name brand I had. The front display is bright and readable so make sure this is also in an area you dont want lit up. Lucky for me, I was able to place this is a place that use to need a night light for no toe stubbing. This worked excellent. The power connections were nice and tight with my meter showing a consistent power even when "Tripped" Plenty of space for wire in back and not very loud when it is ON but lets you know when it is on battery. Has all the functions of others but at a better cost. Batteries look easy to replace but haven't tried yet since it is still new.

Muy buena compra
¡Me gustó mucho mi compra!

Best engineered UPS on the market: it does its job superbly
Disclosure and confession: I spent two decades reviewing UPS systems for several of the largest computer magazines, almost on a yearly basis, and got to know the players in the field quite well, along with their advantages and disadvantages. In almost all the reviews, Tripp-Lite would end up at or near the top of the list of products for their superb engineering, rugged design, and support. Over the years, I've bought quite a few UPSs for personal use, and the vast majority have been Tripp Lites. So, after buying another high-end computer with all-SSD storage, and suffering through five power glitches in a week of bad weather, it was time to buy another UPS. It was, quite frankly, a no-brainer. This was the unit I chose, based on several facts: I like to have extra capacity in the output, so I wanted at least a 1200VA model, the construction was extremely solid, and the price was competitive. I have not been disappointed. The UPS arrived next day (despite not paying for next-day shipment!), got plugged in, and went to work immediately. These are not the world's most attractive UPSs, but they are not ugly either, and they are designed to minimize heat and noise. The documentation is still (twenty years later!) mediocre at best, but all you need to know is on one or two pages, and the software (if you want to connect the UPS to your computer) needs to be downloaded and is, at best, acceptable. Other vendors have nicer designs, better-written manuals, and better software, but after comparing this Tripp Lite with older Tripp Lites and some other manufacturers' units already in my house, I still strongly believe the Tripp Lite is the best built and best designed unit. A very good friend is a protection engineer, and she took the unit apart and pronounced the engineering "excellent". If you want a space-age design and fancy software, then look elsewhere. If you want a UPS that is solid, rugged, reliable, and will be trouble-free for years, then this is one of your best choices. I have some Tripp Lites that have lasted close to a decade on the same battery, and have never seen one of their units fail (unlike some of the other UPS vendors). Extremely solid unit, and strongly recommended.

Excelente.

Work Reliably
I now have 3 of these. I have owned a couple long enough that I needed to replace the batteries. They use common batteries that I was easily able to purchase. They have been more reliable than the APC products I used to buy.
