Pyrex® - Prep & Store - Set of 3 Heavy Duty Glass Bowls with Lids (0.5L - 1L - 2L) - BPA Free

Pyrex is synonymous with quality in my mind, but I wanted this particular set of bowls simply because the colour of the lids matched my kitchen decor. Yes, that's a theme in my review of kitchen items, but it doesn't mean I'll skimp on quality. This item sat in my wish list for months, but when they came on special, I snapped them up. These bowls arrived very carefully packaged and perfectly intact. They were also exactly as described on the website. As expected from Pyrex, the glass bowls have a solid feel without being too weighty, if that makes sense. The plastic(?) lids do feel a little on the cheap side, but are still sturdy. The single clip makes them a little difficult to open, but still manageable. All the lids on the bowls I received were intact and fit over the lids of the glass bowls properly, forming a proper seal. I washed the 0.5L bowl straight away, then set about using it to make egg salad for sandwiches. It didn't spin or move on the bench as I used the fork to mash, and, once cooled, the lid snapped on properly, sealing the contents, and it went straight into the fridge for storage. Easy peasy. When the mixture was used up, both the bowl and lid were easily cleaned by hand and stacked nicely into the other two bowls. I've used the mid-sized bowl to toss dressings into salads, making the process that much easier. As with the smaller bowl, the 1L bowl and lid were easily washed by hand following use; no oily residue, no marks. Once again, Pyrex has lived up to its reputation for quality.

Perfect! Sturdy and the sizes are perfect for all my needs. The lids snap on easily, are well made and a lovely colour. Can be used for mixing ingredients as well as storing food. I'll buy more if I have the room.

I love these compared to my old Pyrex bowls without the lids as the lids help you with storage, preparing food in advance, providing cover to save on cling films or foil. It’s all stackable so easy to store. Great value for money as it came as a pack of 3 and was on offer when I got it. Great quality as it is thick and solid, easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. It’s a must have in the kitchen.

Excellent glass storage, replacing horrible plastic containers, and very versatile.

As far as quality and durability goes I haven't had these specific bowls long. But PYREX is a brand I absolutely trust to last. I've used the same pyrex bowls and jugs for my whole life. I'm pretty sure I've dropped all of them at least once in that time and probably dropped metal spoons in a few times too. Now it's time for me to get my own and I wouldn't consider anything else. To my knowledge this is the same type of borosilicate glass (watch out cos there's another version of pyrex that isn't) so I expect these will likely last me the rest of my life unless I drop them out of a window or something stupid. If nothing else I'd be willing to bet they're more likely to last than any other glass bowls. I figured the lids could be handy at some point but they weren't much of a factor for me. They do fit securely. They click down into place and take a bit of force to remove. I can lift them by the lid, give a little shake and they don't come apart. I'm sure the lids will fail at some point in the lifetime of the bowls. But until then I'm happy to have them. Oh and guess what else? They nest together... WITH THEIR LIDS ON!
