BOSCH (Universally Compatible Accessory) DSB5013P 13-Piece Daredevil Spade Bit Set in Pouch

I picked up the BOSCH Daredevil 13-piece spade bit set for some framing and general woodwork projects, and it has been outstanding. The bits are extremely sharp right out of the pouch and cut through wood quickly with very little effort. The threaded tips really help pull the bit through the material smoothly, which makes drilling faster and reduces strain on the drill. () What impressed me most is how clean the holes come out compared to cheaper spade bits I’ve used in the past. Chip removal is excellent, so there’s less clogging and much smoother drilling, especially on larger diameter holes. The hex shanks also grip securely in the chuck with no slipping. () The included pouch is a nice bonus and keeps all the bits organized and easy to grab when working on different hole sizes. It’s compact enough to toss in the toolbox without bits getting lost everywhere. Overall, this is a fantastic set for both DIY projects and professional use. Bosch really got the design right with these, and I can definitely see why the Daredevil line has such a strong reputation. Highly recommended.

These are BETTER than the Irwin Speedbor Max Spade Bits! I was using the Irwin bits and I thought those were great, until I tried the Bosch Daredevil. Used a few this past weekend while renovating my bathroom and they worked amazing! The smaller bits rip through wood and 2X4 studs with ease. Compared to the Irwin Speedbor Spade Bit, or a standard Spade Bit, these bits also do a great job in comparison. With the Irwin the bit definitely grabs a lot more of the wood at once along the entire bit so I always felt like I had to push the blade, and it always felt rough going through even with a corded drill. The Daredevil cut through without that feeling, and it seems the Irwin went dull quicker than the Daredevil but I still haven't used the Daredevil enough to know if it will outlast the Irwin. LARGE HOLES I had to use the 1-1/2" bit for a large hole and I knew the cordless drill wouldn't cut it so I hooked up my 8amp Dewalt corded drill. This bit definitely demands power and I had to stop and start a bunch to get it through 3" of wood. Wasn't bad, but I definitely had to stop and start, and put the drill in forward and reverse a few times to finally cut through. I don't hold this against the bit because if it had the power behind it I bet it would have gone through without stopping with ease. LONGEVITY Still no clue how they will hold up since I've only used them for a handful of holes, but from touching a new bit compared to the ones I used, I feel no difference and the edge seems to be really sharp still. Clean cuts, and seem to stay sharp. This is now my go-to set for drilling.

I have found this 13-piece set of Bosch spade bits to be very complete with a good selection of all the sizes that I will use most often. Bosch actually sent me a couple of samples of these Daredevil bits a while back and I never really got around to trying them out until just recently when I used them to drill holes for the rough wiring on a Resi kitchen remodel. I was very impressed with how fast they made holes in 2X. Once the hole is started, they are basically self-feeding, but I find that the aggressive action of these bits will generate a lot more vibration than standard Speed-Bore type spade bits and really requires a straight-line approach to the board at relatively high drill speed to be in able to maintain control and use them one-handed in my 18V cordless drill or impact driver, especially so with the larger size bits. I've used these bits with the Irwin Lock N' Load quick-release 6" and 12" extensions which I find to be much faster and easier to work with than regular set screw extensions. These Daredevil bits are definitely not something I would ever use for exposed finish work because they tend to produce too much blowout and splintering when the bit penetrates the back of the board, but they are excellent for rough, concealed work and I will be using them frequently for that type of work. Overall, I think these are great bits and would recommend them for fast, rough hole making in wood.

Installing a new 3/4" gasoline, I needed to bore through three 6x8 old wood beams. My old bits, admittedly having gone through plenty of prior use, weren't cutting it. These bits tore into the wood with a very clean cut. My 12V drills aren't strong enough to drive these bits for that project as the tips want to pull the bite in more than the small drills can sustain, but my medium duty corded drill runs them fairly easily. I did use a long, skinny bit to drill in from the backside and keep the holes completely clean; an extension also would have worked. Good value for the set. Be careful that you don't jam them up if the screw tips really get a good bite; I cleared my holes regularly. Good value down the set. They work perfectly; completely satisfied!

Good quality bits, and love the convenient storage case. The bits cut quickly, and come sharp, the exact quality I would expect from a company like Bosch. Unlike all the other bit sets I've bought in the past, and promptly had my employees lose the exact bit I need, the case can stay in the truck with the bit that gets used returned at the end of the day. It's a great investment, I would make again!

Ich glaube nicht dass es etwas mit bosch zutun hat. Wirkt sehr minderwertig Löcher kann man damit sicher machen frage ist nur wie oft und in welcher Qualität. Das Mäppchen ist auch sehr minderwertig verarbeitet. Bin gespannt was bosch dazu sagt.
