SKIL 7-1/4 IN. TRUEHVL Cordless Worm Drive SKILSAW with TRUEHVL Battery, Diablo Blade-SPTH77M-12

The only worm drive cordless saw that copies the original corded saw. Although, the cordless saw is a little heavier, and balanced a little bit different, the saw has great power, and long battery run time. If you want to get away from an electrical outlet but still want the power of a worm drive, this is the saw you need. Yes, its expensive, but you get a cordless version of a corded saw, unlike most other rear handle saws which are nothing more than an extended handle on a regular side winder circular saw.The dust port is utterly useless...not sure who thought of the design sending sawdust through the forward handle, but that isn't a good design, it plugs up continuously, just put the dust exhaust back on the back of the upper blade guard where its always been.I'd recommend picking up a 2nd battery so you can have one charged and ready to go as charging time is about 45 minutes. These are 48 volt batteries, so they take a bit of time to charge. Great platform, just quite a bit of charging time required.Its nice to have the size and power of the corded version of this saw without the cord...and it doesn't compromise on power. Its just as good keeping itself on track as the corded version, and all of the adjustments function just the same as they do on the corded model.I highly recommend if you want a saw that will last forever, but don't want the cord, get the Skil Saw TRUEHVL, it'll impress you. Keep in mind these are heavy saws, they are made for rough construction and jobsite use.

I had to return on saw because it looked like someone played soccer with the box and the shoe was bent out or alignment. Returned and got this saw. Perfection, only word I have the runout on the blade where the tooth is .0017”. It’s a slick running scissor through the some tough cuts. Great for timber work

Battery defective! It wont charge. Charger shuts off right away. Tested on different chargers because i have couple of them and it shuts the charger off. Different battery works good, this one battery not working

This saw is perfectly balanced and is very comfortable to use all day.I would say my only complaint is the safety button when trying to do a 45⁰ miter because it's hard to hold the saw and push the safety single handed while holding material in the other hand, when making straight cuts it's not an issue because its balanced when its sitting vertically. Not really a complaint just a bit challenging in some situations.This saw is very powerful and the battery does last all day when framing a home.I cut lumber for a 1000 sqft subfloor (joists and sheathing) on a single charge so that's pretty awesome.I use a diablo framing blade and this thing rips through anything as fast as I can push it.Great job skilsaw on this design!

I bought this because I wanted a cordless saw with power and as close to the Skilsaw I've used for the last 35 years. Balance is a little different, but not a deal breaker. The visibility is the same as my old saw. The safety button for the trigger is fine when cutting on horses, but completely sucks for everything else. No idea why they added that to the saw. I will be disabling it.

The stupid proprietary battery. It's also quite heavy. By far the heaviest cordless saw in its class. About the same weight as an SD77. Definitely noticeably heavier than my mag77 light. The other issue is the balance. Tail heavy. All the other saws have a Mag77 balance and this thing is different and tail heavy because of the battery location. The goods. Great power and runtime in comparison to other cordless saws. The great? The charge time. Makita 36v is 90min in a tandem charger, Milwaukee is almost 2hrs on their rapid charger (they do have a 1hr supercharger sold separately), haven't tested charge time on the dewalt or Hilti, and this saw supposedly charges in 45min. I haven't used it enough yet to drain the battery that low.

Better than corded, I haven’t rolled out my corded skilsaw since I started using this a year ago. Been framing houses for 25 years and I’m surprised how well it performs. Occasionally you’ll need to charge the battery during lunch or simply buy a second battery to have on hand. Charges quickly though. It’s particularly handy when forming concrete because you’re not dragging a cord over forms and stakes etc. keep an eye on the dust shoot in the handle, it’ll blow in your face in certain cuts (45 deg fascia etc) I put my thumb over it to keep the dust from blowing in my face and sometimes put a strip of tape over it, other than the dust shoot it’s awesome.
