Salad for Dinner: Complete Meals for All Seasons Review: Fantastic, Whole Food, Vegetable Based, Satisfying Eating - I LOVE this cookbook! I was a little intimidated when I read how many of her own vegetables Jeanne grows, but while there are a lot of somewhat exotic ingredients included in the book, she gives clear advice on where to find them or how to make substitutions if they're not available. The book is broken up into four sections: Vegetarian, Fish & Seafood, Poultry, and Meat (I'm sure a gourmet chef would disagree with me, but I've found that even the non-vegetarian salads can be made vegetarian quite easily without a great sacrifice to taste). Along with countless salad recipes, the book also provides instructions on how to make a plethora of side items: dressings, breads, and sauces, along with salad elements (like roasted beets) required in the recipes. There is a handy list of salads that can be made a day (or more) ahead of time, if you want to plan for tomorrow's lunch, as well as a timeline for which items can be prepared one, two, or three days in advance to save yourself time when you're ready to throw it all together (she also provides clear instructions on how to pack a salad to preserve flavor and crispness). The book also contains a list of salads which can be made without lettuce, if you have difficulty procuring it or want to find one at quick glance, a wheel to identify what is most likely to be in season at a given time, and an incredibly detailed and inspiring index of different greens you might use in a salad. This cookbook is quickly becoming my favorite go-to for any occasion! There is no nutrition information provided for the recipes, so if that's important to you you'll need to estimate that yourself. The only thing I wish this book provided was a list or glossary with recipes sorted based on some of the more hard-to-find ingredients (if I'm traveling an hour out of my way to pick up a few ingredients, it would be great to be able to easily glance and see which different salads I might plan on making with them that week) - but that is nitpicking an excellent, usable cookbook! Review: YUM! - What a visual stunner this book is. If you love salads, you'll want to get your hands on this book for a look-see. There are so many delicious recipes, and most are accompanied with colorful photos. The author gives little snippets of information preceding each recipe that makes reading the recipes interesting and helpful. What sold me on the book, besides the actually yummy recipes and gorgeous photos, were the 25 front-section pages on everything you would want to know about choosing, buying, growing greens, which greens are paired nicely with which vinaigrettes, and then she gives page numbers for those vinaigrettes along with the salads. This is an exceptional book on salads. I would definitely recommend this cookbook.

LOTS of options with pictures.
I am working my way through this book, recipe by recipe. We have had a lot of good surprises, and some "ehs", but a great selection of salads of all types and lots of colorful pics of each, which we enjoy. This would be a great gift for your veggie loving friends.

Love these salads!
I have never been one to LOVE salads, but realize they are important part of a healthy diet. I can honestly say that I have tried (and liked) more recipes in this book than any other cookbook I own. The recipes are easy to prepare and the dressings I've made so far have been delicious - highly recommend this book!

Exciting salads!
This book was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Each salad has lots and lots of interesting ingredients, so it's so much more than just some greens with a few veggies thrown in. I was looking for a book that would give me ideas for salads I couldn't come up with on my own, and this book delivers.

Ok
Sam Powell’s salad cook book won my heart. This cook book had too many words and stories and not enough photos for recipes.

An excellent resource
This cook book is a great addition to my library. I now make healthy meals of salads more often & enjoy Ms. Kelley's writing immensely.

Delicious recipes! Highly recommend!
I really enjoy this cookbook. I often hear about eating salads for dieting or weight loss, which makes them seem unappealing, but this book celebrates ingredients and flavor combinations that would make you want to eat salad as a first choice and full meal. I am enjoying making various salad dressings at home too. Very nice photos and text.

Absolutely fantastic! Made the Balsamic Chicken and Green Bean Salad and it was delicious! I already have several page corners turned down and can hardly wait to try them.

I bought this book because my husband and I are on a diet and are eating lots of salads, and I needed some new ideas. This book fulfils that basic requirement and more - we have an allotment and I have already changed this years' growing plan to incorporate elements from this book. Split between vegetarian, fish and meat recipes, as a vegetarian it would be simple to alter the fish and meat recipes to suit. The photography is sumptuous, the vibrant colours of each one - I can't remember the last time I bought a recipe book and wanted to make each and every dish. Highly recommended, I am now going to investigate this lady's other books as well!

I have just ordered a fifth copy of this cookbook! Four were gifts and a copy for myself. There is my recommendation for this cookbook. I believe it is that good. I was introduced to this wonderful cookbook by a dear friend who made me two amazing meals with recipes from this book and she has recommended quite a few more I am looking forward to trying.

This is a brilliant book. I bought copies for friends for Christmas as well as for myself. A visitor who saw it went home and also bought several copies.

A good book but to be honest I haven't made many salads out of it...probably due to the fact that many of the recipes require ingredients that are not normally found in my cupboard.
