Lava lamps aren't that hard to get working right. You need to make sure the little metal coil is sitting on the bottom of the lamp, you may need to tilt the wax around to make sure the coil settles at the bottom. Then, the lamps need up to 4+ hours to warm up and start flowing. I got an Amazon Warehouse Deal lamp for under $20. The bulb was broken. The bulbs are $3.47 at home depot. I asked amazon for a partial refund for the broken bulb. They gave me $5. I did store pickup on a bulb and the lamp was up and running in a few hours. This lamp is excellent! The colours are awesome and harder to find. It's great for the bedroom, because it doesn't have any blue/green light that disrupts sleep.

I have had this lamp for several months and used it extensively through the winter and spring (I don't turn on lava lamps during hot summer days). This lamp is great, it has an attractive finish that reminds me of a martian landscape. I have several lamps, this particular one is the favorite of my housemate, and he is picky! This lamp is a good quality for the price. It is, however, one of the smaller lamps. Classic lava lamps come in 3 standard sizes (not counting certain specialty lamps). So be aware the size of this is the 14 inch not 17 inch (17 inch is probably the more common size found in mall shops etc that one would expect if you don't have other lamps for a reference). The wax in this lamp heats up fairly quickly, same quality expected as other current model 14 inch lava lamps. If you want to be able to enjoy your lava lamp's motion effects the fastest, I would recommend getting a 14 inch lamp over the larger sizes anyway, as they are much faster to heat up and create motion. I highly recommend this lamp, it is a lovely orange colored glow and creates a beautiful atmosphere. Would make a great gift, especially for young men, or for anyone who likes lava lamps, retro lighting, or the warm colors.

My son has now had this lamp for 2 years and it is still doing great I have only had to replace the bulb a couple of times. It still looks like we just bought it!

I bought this lava lamp for my son for Christmas. I was specifically looking for one that a)didn't have clear fluid b)weren't blue or green in color or girl colors. To my surprise nothing in Walmart, Kmart or Target could fit the bill. Most were in clear liquid and the ones that weren't, the water was blue or the wax was hot pink or purple. I wanted this for my sons room and it would be on at night. We really try to avoid excess blue light and on all our devices we have a blue light filter, hence the reason for avoiding the clear liquid (too much light showing through) or blue water/wax... I was so excited to find this one on amazon bc it was perfect!! My son loves it a d it looks great. My only complaint was the light bulb blew the moment the we turned it on so I had to go out and buy a replacement bulb (not pricey 2-3 bucks for a 2 pack of bulbs. Also, I didn't realize how long the wax takes to melt, it doesn't really start flowing until about the two hour mark and we are usually done with the light far before that time frame. All in all, I think this was a great purchase, the lava design it really nice looking the colors are the ones that block out blue light and it's bright enough to be used as a room light but dim enough to be used as a night light (I turn it off before I go to bed, it's much brighter than most night lights but not too bright to allow my son to fall into a sleep)

I have been looking for a quality 70’s lava lamp for years. I am THRILLED with this lava lamp and use it every day. The packaging by this company was professional and informative - as well as thanking the buyer and to not hesitate to contact them with any questions or concerns. I use it daily in my bedroom. I bought it for decor and nostalgic memories of my parents having one. I have found it helps me with relaxation... I am prone to insomnia, it runs in the family. Sleep meds aren’t effective for me at all or have unpleasant side effects. When I am unable to sleep, simply resting is what I am now doing. I find the lamp soothing. Typically, I’d thrash around in bed for awhile and then head to the coffee pot. Now I’m resting and am relaxed as well as I have been even fallen asleep for a bit. My husband likes it, too - it is groovy and he is also impressed with the quality. He is a good sleeper and it is my nightlight....it doesn’t disrupt him. It’s a decent length cord and the base is sturdy. I am going to buy another for a friend. It’s unique and affordable gift. I am simply a customer so this is not a fake review. A++ highly recommended Company note is friendly and confident they stand by their product. I use it every day!

Super cool para los chicos, no se arrepentiran

All I have to say with this product is: It's great, but give it time. I thought it was a dud when I got it and left it on for six hours and nothing was working right. I did as the video said and rotated it while it was on. Turned it off after the 6 hour mark, then I turned it back on and it started working great. Looks amazing!

I purchased two lamps within the last two weeks from this seller, and the BULBS included are NOT strong enough. So, you are forced to buy the proper bulb below, which I have used the past year for my three lamps. I have bought two lamps from this seller in the past two weeks and not functional DUE to the included bulbs. Thus, YOU are actually paying about a 30% markup to buy a real working bulb: Sylvania 14784 25-Watt Intermediate Base Incandescent R14 Mini-Reflector Light Bulb at about $6.00. these bulbs work Sylvania 14784 25-Watt Intermediate Base Incandescent R14 Mini-Reflector Light Bulb. Again, I just received my 2nd lava lamp here, and pre-ordered the working bulb, and put their included bulb in for over 3 hours, as expected, nothing, but after putting Sylvania bulb in the lamp, it began starting to work after less than an hour. Of course, it will get in full movement in about 2-3 hours, but I already saw lots of movement in the first hour. THIS seller is selling poor quality bulbs, so you are buying a lamp with NO bulb! real bulbs that work would make this 5 stars OR change the advertisement and price with NO Bulb, as a fake nonworking bulb is the cause of all of these low ratings. It is about 30% more than the list price of the lamp to buy the bulb, and surely costing this company a lot of money to give refunds and have poor ratings for weak bulbs making othes think the lamp does not work! lower the price, or give better bulbs or NO bulbs..

I purchased 2 of these lava lamps for my children and unfortunately only 1 ended up working, I had to purchase replacement bulbs for it which seems like a reach ring issue among the other reviews. This lava lamp is really cool looking, the only downfall is that it gets EXTREMELY hot to the touch Otherwise decent lava lamp.

El producto llego en muy buen estado y en el dia estimado,a mi sobrino le encanto,esta muy bonita,solo se tiene que conectar por corriente eléctrica y esperar a que se caliente para que las burbujas que salen empiezen a moverse, excelente producto.

The bulb that came with it was not working and I couldn't find a replacement. Ended up returning the product.

I was hesitant before buying this because of the reviews I read. Alot werent so good , but I have nothing negative to say about this. I bought it for a xmas goft for my sister who wants to start a lava lamp collection, and it works amazing! Of coursr you have to be patient for the wax to melt the first couple of times you plug it in. It took about 4 hours to start going, but the more you turn it on, the fastet it'll be each time. Colours are beautiful and my sister loves it.

Muy bonita lampara simula el color de la lava, colores brillantes y rojizos, en la base el color amarillo intenso parece que la lava es real, llego en tiempo y funciona perfectamente, al inicio la lava es densa por lo que cuando este caliente por primera vez girala para que inicie la funcion y no se quede todo el tiempo abajo la lava, es solo la primera vez que se enciende.
