Cool
I had a tree fall on part of my house (construction still not done) and my insurance paid for this so I can stay in my house. It works great with the ceiling fans.

Very disappointed in this product
I purchased this unit on 6/27, on day 31 I awoke to soaking wet carpet. There is a massive leak in the bottom of the unit. The unit is described as self evaporating but I didn't think they meant leaking out the bottom! According to the manual there is a red alarm light that should come on and the unit is supposed to shut down if the drainage should become an issue. Never happened, just continued to run and no alarm light. We looked at it and even added a drain hose to the back drain to the outside and we experienced large leaks 2 more times. Not to mention that it doesn't cool well at all. I wish I had read these negative reviews before purchasing. Very disappointed and a complete waste of money.

Needs a few little improvements in hose design . Great low amp draw .
I was torn if I could I would give it 3.5 stars but its better then 3 so it received 4 . Do use the reflective tape . It arrived in the regular box and the bottom styrofoam was all busted up . I couldn't ship it in that box which is a negative for warranty work . I had previously bought a LG of the same size . Their hose mounting was much better this is really poor if you going to move it from room to room often . No clamps you just cram the ends on by pressure fitting them screwing them on at the same time . Not good but works . The mode switch is confusing just a colored light nothing else Blue is cool , you will see in the manual orange is dehumidify green fan . You really need to tape the hoses on more solid with that reflective tape .IT is so much slower to cool and less cold then other air conditioners I have for output . I have a 6000 btu wall unit in another room and it is much more efficient . What I do like . It works the LG was DOA . It is very quiet I could sleep next to it and will . It has a little well on top to put the remote into put I would still get some velcro if you move it allot like we do . It is small and the top is is flat so you can put stuff on it . Moves pretty easy rolling 50lbs isnt crazy to lift and I am disabled to get over carpets etc . My main like was it uses a low amperage draw of just over 6 amps and runs at 700 watts . I can power another air conditioner and this one with my Honda 2000i . generator in a power outage or in the motorhome when parked in long term camping . All and all it would be 5 stars if it had better connections for the venting . I have only had it a very short time so I will update . I had trouble with the warranty on the site but Amazon said I they would fix it and offered me a square trade for my trouble . I should be all set . In the past Honeywell customer service has always been . good to me . LG was terrible . These are great for motor homes when parked for the winter in Az for instance but be careful some makers only warrant them if . used in homes . Oh and the drain plug is real low your pan would have to be 1/2 inch deep to drain or you need to raise I it . I havent had that much water build up yet so I havent drained it . Thats the first thing to check on these if performance goes down . I came back and took the fourth star off . It was 80 the first time I used it and it went up to 90 and the thing could not cool more then a couple degree's . I will keep working with it and if I can get it working better add a star back . These are way weaker then window units . MY Fridgedaire 600 btu air conditioner window unit is about the same weight and works so much better . Of course it takes a little work to install and you cant move it but you really cant drag this around and you have to spend $50 for extra window mounts and fight with the hose connections . The window unit costs half as much too not even considering the extra window vents and you need to remove them for winter .I used to just put a insulated cover on the in window unit . I guess you can more easily use the window with this . KInd of sad if the box didnt break I might return it . The best it could do at 79 outside it was 82 in the room was get it down to 75 after 1 hour and it is a very small room 180 sq feet , very well insulated but in the sun . They say to increase size by 20% in that case or near the kitchen but I have to watch the amp draw , still very pleased on that front this is onlly 700 watts most are 900 and 8 0r 9 amps this size .

Nice n Icey
Nice portable a/c unit. Price, A little on high side in comparison to similar btu models. But I would recommend it due to it's quality.

lowrring my rating due yo heat produced while cooling helpe me in a pinch, thank you Honeywell keep streamlining small BTU units
Update 2018: after installing it near a window in the back room I find the unit emits heat which negates the bulk of the cooling effect thus is due to dehumidifying. But it is not fair yo not give people a real explanation of how to deal with this.very confusing.we got this during the past winter, anticipating the central AC units issues of cost and breakdown we see every year. Sure enough we had a ac breakdown in our big central AC unit in March, & set up the little black Honeywell in one afternoon, out if the box. The little Honeywell air conditioned our bedroom and let us sleep like babies! The noise level is low. The on off is digital & easy to read with a temp control, easy to see. It got us through till we could fix the main ac unit. Floruda is having record heat. I plan to use it for spot cooling in other rooms, eventually. I would be interested in a low profile window unit ( one like the new noria ac low profile style unit) in the future, to purchase . I think unit's AC hose is a bit, bulky, not too stylish looking & also a bit confusing what angle the hose works best at. I wish someone would build a 5-6000 BTU room mini split AC unit reasonable with low wattage I'm really tired of what my light bill turns I to every summer I still don't like my set up of the unit. But it's temporary for the emergency we had but it sure came in handy when we needed it! I would buy a Honeywell product again if the can make a streamlined low profile low profile low wattage black or silver unit for a window. I think this unit is pretty compact except for the hose part. I'm looking for something for my RV that can run off a battery or solar. .

Works wonderfully, mostly quiet which is why I purchased this model. It is definitely the best portable air conditioner Iโve bought in years.

Not sufficient
I'm in a closed 12x12 room and this air conditioner is blowing directly on me and I'm sweating. The room hasn't changed temperature in 2 hours. Finally got my replacement from Honeywell in a beat up used box.

I bought this unit to cool & dehumidify a basement during a NY heatwave
I bought this unit to cool & dehumidify a basement during a NY heatwave. It was delivered fast, but the box had been opened previously. Even though this was supposed to be new unit, the foam packing was all broken up, & the box was very damaged. The window bracket was not included, the exhaust hose was dirty & the attachment to the hose (that is supposed to go into the window bracket) was cracked. Amazon was very accommodating & offered to send me a replacement immediately (which would arrive in 4 days). I needed the unit that day so I had to use it they way it was, with a MacGyver style window bracket made out of plexiglass & a dryer vent. It worked while I waited for the new unit, cooled the room to about 73 degrees at best. I'm going to give it another few days' trial, & may insulate the exhaust hose. Now that it is set up, I'm reluctant to send it back & try to set up a new one. I wish the hose were more flexible (it's pretty rigid) and I wish the vent could be moved to face up or down. I'm still on the fence about whether this is worth it, but we're on day 7 of a 90+ degree heatwave, so I'm not complaining.
