Excellent Practice Tool for any serious student
This practice journal is a great tool for any serious student. It is based on the idea that it takes 10,000 hours to truly master an activity. This book offers an easy way to track your progress with any discipline. Daily quotes help with inspiration and direction. Tracking your progress helps with recognizing growth and is always helpful to look back on. I have also found that tracking practice time helps with time management and focus. The book is very affordably priced which makes it a great gift for students as well. I also recommend Mark's "Slammin Simon" series method books. They are also affordable and valuable for any percussion student. Check them out and Mark's other books!Garett Heinz

Most helpful and motivating book I am currently using
This practice log is perfect for conservatory students! I am currently using it to stay motivated and practicing throughout my busy days. It is very useful because you can set goals before practicing and force yourself to really reflect on it afterwards. I find that I hold myself more accountable.

Just enough in a compact package!
I REALLY like this practice log! Other logs tend to have too much going on for me. I wanted something simple--to track my goals for the session, what I did well and didn't do well, and then space for anything else. This book has exactly that. It's small, smaller than an average composition notebook but not "pocket sized". It has enough space for what I need to write down. Very good log for all levels of musicians!

Great log for tracking practice, goals and progress!
I purchased this log to use when drumming. This is a great tool for tracking practice and progress. I also really like that there are prompts throughout the journal to get you thinking about your inspiration, goals and more. The only thing I wish is that the log was spiral bound to make writing in it easier and so it would sit open on a music stand or table. If you're looking for a log to keep track of your practice, I'd definitely recommend checking this out! Plus, you can't beat the price. :)

Buy more than one, you'll need it!
I've been using my practice log daily since the beginning of the new year! There's plenty of room to write and keep track of how much time I spend on each instrument. Originally, I bought two books; one for my guitar and the other for my banjo. However, my daughter saw me writing in the first log and took my second copy to keep track of her piano practicing. Looks like I need to order more!My favorite parts: I love the inspirational quotes throughout and the graph at the back of the book used to track the amount of time I practice. Great stuff!

Good for young kids
This book would be good for young musicians starting out, but is too basic for advanced players (advanced HS or college)5 starts for younger musicians usefulness.

Straight Forward Practice Log
I like the simple layout and the inspirational quotes. The interspersed reflection pages are also useful.

Simplistic design and layout, only 3 months of log.
I was looking for a practice journal for musicians and I wanted to try this out. Sadly, to have a year’s worth of practice logged (given you practice almost every day), you will need to purchase four of these journals which amounts to $23 + taxes and/or shipping. The layout is simplistic and just notes the time you’ve practiced and after every 7 days, it has a page for reflection. I was expecting more from this journal, but was disappointed.I’m posting the inside pages of what you’ll see in this journal for the benefit of those thinking to buy it. Unlike me, I didn’t have much of a choice, as I only saw images of the cover and some sample pages. So I had no idea the substance (or lack of) this journal had.I reco the following Practice journals:1. Practice Journal for Musicians by Allysia Van Betuw (PianoTV)2. Purpose in Practice Journal by Rachel Lee Hall. These two are well thought/of and they do not look like pages just slapped in together and sold as a music practice journal.

Excellent Practice Tool
I have noticed that my practicing sessions have become MUCH more organized and effective! I am repurchasing more for piano and will start using it for my violin practice sessions too! Highly recommended if you want to become more organized and engaged while practicing.
